ZODIAK
I just can't get my head around this Witches team what the hell is wrong with them? No disrespect to Scunny but they're pants. On paper we should be winning that but again a terrible "effort". Something is clearly awry at Ipswich and who knows what the hell it is. Individually we have King winning the British title and Covatti sailing through the GP qualifiers and is only 5 rides away from the GP's. In a Witches suit though.. Meanwhile, Rohan Tungate continues to impress and top scores at the Showground to help Somerset run out easy winners. Not a bad rider him! JamesB
So, we finally get a decent return from the reserves and the top four go AWOL. I really can't work this team out.

Whilst I agree with most of your post I seem to remember a lot of posts wanting Rohan Tungate out of Ipswich for this season. All teams with any kind of play off ambition will mark the Scunthorpe away meeting as must win, tells you everything about Ipswich.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Ipswich team puzzles me. You, me and plenty of others!!

phillwhitewasmad
Got to say just got in from the meeting and it was very good scorpions coming from behind on many occasions tonight where previously wouldn't of happened. Massive shout to Ryan Douglas tonight big score and allowing big josh through for a full maximum in 15 was brilliant who says there's no team spirit also Alex Davies seemed more like his old self tonight
Halifaxtiger
I just can't get my head around this Witches team what the hell is wrong with them? No disrespect to Scunny but they're pants. On paper we should be winning that but again a terrible "effort". Not tonight they weren't. Cracking meeting in which Scunthorpe at last fulfilled their potential against a disappointing Ipswich outfit. Top class racing from the Scorpions, beginning with Douglas and Wilkinson in heat 6 followed by an incredible battle between Davies & Barker in heat 9 - I lost count of how many times they passed each other - before Auty's astonishing ride in heat 11 to pass King & Sarjeant. That one was as good as it gets and the best I have seen this season. I must admit every time I leave EWR - almost always after some terrific racing with the meeting finished in under 90 minutes and Rob Godfrey's extraordinary presentation thrown in (a bit like having a mate on the mic after he's had a few but so affable, down to earth and passionate you really don't care about his mistakes) - I wonder if Scunny can do it and do it consistently why the bloody hell can't everyone else
TB1
According to the bspa results page we are now called Peterborough. Is there something we don't know?
Sidney the robin
I am a big fan of Auty ,and Douglas is a class act also chuffed for Josh does this bloke ever gate.?Every meeting he never gates but gets through in his races.Hope now at number five it will be better for him the track creates more lines for him if so he will come from the back in most races Ipswich looked poor tonight.
phillwhitewasmad
Never seen a rider try as hard as Ben barker tonight for not much reward rode his heart out
eric i
Scunny needed that, I am not sure if we were good or Ipswich were poor, probably a bit of both. Some really excellent races, I think Sky need to get back to Scunny. Can you imagine what Nigel and Kelvins commentary would be like if they witnessed Auty's heat 11, it doesn't bear thinking about.
brylcream boy
Good to see Scunny back on form and it will be interesting to see how they fare against a decent team.

KIRKYLANE
Scunthorpe rode well and Ipswich were disappointing yet again. King and Covatti certainly did not score anywhere near their potential.
Reviresco
Ipswich riders must have been told /guessed which one of the four consortia bidding to take on the promotion reins in 2017 and that they are therefore not in the 2017 EL team plans. If that is the case, it is quite shocking, not so much from the riders, but the current promotion and title sponsor plus Team Manager. King testing engines again for Revolution, or just holding back before his Big Night Out in Cardiff? Also peed off that his mate Lewi Kerr has been dumped. Covatti levelled off this season, no disrespect, but seems to be focused on 2017 SGP series and must be peed off that Castagna has gone. Barker - you will get what you get and you could lay your mortgage on him .... or could you. Risager - no comment, but anyone who recommends a rider, who is contracted, sight unseen, must have his credibility questioned Sarjeant - I like him, little confidence, you get what you get, another rider who should have improved under the Louis' banner but doesn't appear to have. Reserves: well done lads. JJ is the sort of rider Ipswich should be using (along with Danyon Hune) and OG is what he is. Team Manager: 0/10 Promotion 2/10 Title Sponsor: 3/10 Riders: 5/10 Overall: 2.5/10 - see me, must try harder..... EDIT: PS: apologies Scunthorpe, that my post was totally concentrated on the Witches. Well done to the riders, the crowd, the track man and the promotion. Ryan Douglas: you little beauty, ripper, true oker mate. So pleased for you after last season. Josh Auty: I eat my words as you can get a max without targeting A N Other over your 5 heats. Well done lad, and a bit of class. Keep it going lad. The other 5 = top effort, you should be well pleased. Now if you hadn't of had the early season disruption.....? Baldyman
I thought the witches riders put their heart and soul into their performance, but unfortunately and as often is the case, the scorpions had far more heart and lots more soul. A very well run meeting by the ref and scunthorpe management.
Halifaxtiger
Let's hope the same Ipswich side turns up on Thursday Make no mistake, this wasn't just about Ipswich being rubbish. Scunny had more fire and determination - and an ability to get out of the gate - than I have seen tjem have all season
sharpandroid
Yes the Scorpions had passion and determination as a whole team, I haven't seen that at home this year until now. They looked like they could give any pl team a good contest. I remember Danny King not being too hot round the EWR last year and didn't expect much from him but Covatti I thought would be better than he was. Looking forward now to Redcar on Thursday and seeing Glasgow at Scunthorpe on friday. As Rob might say "let's kick on".
