bruno
when I went to Glasgow a few weeks ago I couldn't believe how up for it the crowd were, everything seemed positive. I didn't think the racing last night was fantastic but because of the crowd reaction and the feel good factor it was still a cracking night out id have thought
g13webb
The crowd was not all round the track as at Lynn but yeah there was a good feel about it, the promoters had tried hard with flags and banners, the fans were up for it and their riders obliged them. I really don't think our doom and gloom sayers on here could ever be up for a good time again! Jesus, depresses me! I don't ask for a lot, but a little effort is not a lot to ask.
semion
Glasgow stands out where owners are prepared to invest time effort and of course money into a project. Surprise, Surprise they are getting the rewards. Trees. You can sure count me in the negative club where Lynn Speedway is concerned. Take those Rose tinted glasses off and look at what you are paying for. If you are happy you and the likes of you are prepared to keep rocking up and watching that flat, lifeless dross then that's what they will keep serving up.

And as of last week when for the first time we stayed home and watched on Sky Sports even now I'm not sure if we will be going tonight or not . Star Lady
I agree with Semion and Haza but are there any realistic options open to Buster team wise? Promotion wise anything would be an improvement!
em1500uk
I was going to do another shameless plug about the supporters club 50/50 draw tonight in this topic, but don't know whether I should dare reading the latest comments

My frustration is the same as yours but bloody hell that 1st sentence was long. I required an oxygen tank to get through that I think by the fact that the promotion can't be assed it's also rubbing off the riders and definitely the spectators. I'm looking to go to this one all being well simply because it's Belle Vue & they're on the up & to see how R.Lambert struts his stuff against them. The races he's in are the ones I look forward to as anything can happen, hang on, have I just talked myself out of it again £17 for 4-5 races Balls, I get back to ya once I've had a chat with myself
tellboy
I agree the season on and off track hasnt gone well. But someone has to be bottom of the pile,or near as damn it. If Lynn were to make changes and things still didnt work out i bet the same people would still come on here and moan their socks off about the same thing. Being around the bottom isn't a problem for me, the issue is the disregard of the supporters. When you're having a tough season the promotion should have a plan b-c-d-e to at least look as though they trying to fix it. We have meetings in hand on those in the top 4 currently and we'd be right back in there with a couple of wins. It's just the sense they "can't be assed" and supporters are feeling the same. The attitude at the top has to change & it will rub off onto others. A bit of passion ain't a big ask is it?

Promotion wise anything would be an improvement! There are always options, but we as always tend to do nothing.... Its the same year after year after year..... When problems arise for other clubs they try to remedy the situation, Us, we don't do a thing. In recent years when injuries ( Rory, Kenneth, Niels, Kerr etc.) has sabotaged any hopes of success, instead of going out to find any cover we carry on with what we have left, I'm not prepared to pay out decent money to watch a 2 man team.....lose every week ...... semion
Speedway at Lynn has never been all about winning or losing for me. Blimey Over the years I have seen some pretty average teams in representing Lynn. Never has it felt as flat as this season. I can trace it back to when Young JC parted company with Buster. He had a fresh innovative approach to the modern World of Speedway. Ok, it was never going to capture the feeling of the 70's with 4/5,000 people in the place, but it was a feel good factor about the place even with 1500/2000 in the Stadium. Then when Mike Bennett departed it took another dip and has gone down and down for me. Now I don't really care if I go or not, back in the day I would have done everything in my power to have been there. It is interesting that people like Star Lady, Baggy, ( where has he disappeared to?) GRW, Myself a good few others seem to all appear to have the same feeling after years of solid support. Star Lady
There are always options, but we as always tend to do nothing.... Easy to say so come on name some options. It is interesting that people like Star Lady, Baggy, ( where has he disappeared to?) GRW, Myself a good few others seem to all appear to have the same feeling after years of solid support. Exactly, I didn't always agree with what JC did, as I told him quite often and to his credit he always answered my criticisms, I might not always have liked or agreed with what he said but he took the time to explain. I've never cared whether Lynn won or lost, tho I prefer to win of course. I simply want to see a team I can relate to, do their very best on and off track and make the supporters feel they are part of it. That starts with the promotion and team manager. If they cannot or will not get the riders to acknowledge the fans why the heck should the fans bother. You only have to look at Danny Ayres last night at Glasgow. I don't suppose he or his most fervent fans think he is the worlds best rider but his race win last night meant the world to him and he quite rightly made that very clear to the fans and boy did they respond. Unless he is an Oscar winning actor of course When was the last time any rider a rider a Lynn even came close to that. I feel totally divorced from the club I've loved for so long and sadly cannot see that changing . IMHO the EL as it is, is well past its sell by date. ,hopefully, look away Haza, we will go back PL and I might just might get a teeny bit of enthusiasm back but the promotion will have to put a bit more effort into it first.
semion
SL. Elite League, Premier League, dosent matter what badge you put on it. The whole thing is in critical and without major surgery its a dead duck. What worries me is the people who have been put in charge will look to put another sticking plaster on it and think that will work.
Daniel Smith
Is it possible now with the club having decent backing from Adrian Flux, Roger Warnes etc that attendance money is just the 'added bonus'? People turning up or not may not be making any difference in the running of the club, it's all just extra pocket money
semion
Don't think the sponsorship money would compare to when The Club had Money Centre, Banham Poultry and Jark as sponsors. Plus was pulling in decent gates with a home meeting every week. Edited June 30, 2016 by semion

Agree but the figure must be substantial to have the naming rights to the stadium surely?
Star Lady
Agree but the figure must be substantial to have the naming rights to the stadium surely? Not necessarily, £100 for instance for changing the name is better than nothing for staying the NA.
