TheScotsman
Updates certainly made it sound an awful lot better than last night's telly feast.
drew2
Updates certainly made it sound an awful lot better than last night's telly feast. It was bound to be, the bad races at the OTA are better than some tracks good ones!
New era Panthers
34 point lead. Should be enough. Â 14 race wins - impressive. Â PPP (p*ss poor panthers) Must have been pi55 poor even Ipswich managed 29 at the Oak tree arena. but you can't take it away from Somerset they are a very good side. I didn't expect too much from this meeting but that is an awfully embarrassing defeat.

RHayes
Some brilliant racing tonight with heats 10, 11, 12 and 15 being standouts. Good to see Jake go through unbeaten to get his first max. Hard luck on Zach being against one of the hardest pairings (on paper) at 6 and 7 but he was on the pace. BWD seemed to suffering with bike problems but still got his average riding at no.2 so all in all, a good night for the Rebels. LagutaRacingFan
I didn't know we were riding, sums up the KOC Cup. Â I bet the riders were thinking the same.

Gresham
Some good racing tonight...but conditions seemed to effect Panthers more than Rebels. Â It was blowing a massive gale. Â Enough for the referee to have a break to see if the wind would die down. Â It was gusting across the track...enough for Cook to hit the fence whilst leading on the back straight and fall. Â Patio furniture was flying about...even fence panels and the entrance gates were damaged. Â I think the result would have been a lot closer if it wasn't for the wind. Â Won't take it away from the Rebels though... Jake is on fire at the moment....very fast. Â BWD, again seems down on power, must be frustrating for the lad, especially when making the gate. Â Great pass by Rohan on Cook as well in one race. Â The score seems more one sided than it actually felt, if that makes sense.

The way I saw it, Cookie got well and truly out of shape while under pressure from the Rebels and fell as a result. I thought he was lucky not to fall at the start of the back straight. Pleased he walked away as it looked nasty. Didn't see him though as I was dealing with the panel that came down by the exit! He definitely must have been second hand in his following rides (not taking away anything from Rohan's fine pass of him). The Rebels didn't seem to have much trouble with the conditions so I think the wind is a bit of a red herring. We just were too dominant for the Panthers tonight. Hopefully we will give them a good meeting at the EOS too. Got tangled on start of back straight, recovered and gained control, then seemed to go down in a heap at the start of turn 3...very odd. Â It was suggested that a few of the panthers riders, weren't happy with the conditions, but both managers and majority of riders wanted to continue. Â I think it was a combination of home advantage, Rebels on form, and the conditions that affected a few Panthers riders, that made the scoreline so vast. Â Made for some great entertainment though :-)
EnglishRoundabout
Some of the Rebels regulars (some who have been going to speedway since the early sixties) said they have never experienced such gales at a speedway meeting. Â The light stantions were swaying, paper bags blew at speed across the centre green, seagulls were blown off course, the large double entrance gates suddenly burst open and a huge wooden panel came adrift on the home straight fence, causing some spectators to take cover. Â Referee Mike Posselwhite met with the team managers on the centre green at one stage to review conditions. Suddenly, the sun came out, but the wind continued followed by several bursts of rain. It was more like November than late June. Â The Rebels were truly on fire. Zach however had a poor meeting. Seemed under power and lacked aggression at the crucial first turn. Â Jake Allen is proving to be a fantastic signing. He has great potential and has more that proved his worth this season. Â Starke and Wright provided their usual high octane performances, Wright in an after match interview claimed the wind helped him, as it 'blew him even closer to the fence, where he wanted to be anyway'. Â For the Panthers, Ostergaard was on the pace in all of his races and really put a 'shift' in. Cook seemed to be shaken after his fall in heat 5, and didn't seem to too interested after that. Â Credit to Jackobsen who fought hard in every race. He really did look the part and was unlucky to only score a handful of points. Definitely worth double his score. Â This Rebels side is entertainment personified (to use a Dave Lanning saying) and I am certain they will win more silverware this season
cyclone
Credit to Somerset in assembling a team which was not considered star studded at the start of the Season. Â They took a risk in bringing in Tungate who had an indifferent 2015, and courageously opted for two untried Commonweath riders at PL level who were saddled with 5pt min GSA for the Season. Â Even although Zak W has not so far lived up to media expectations, it would not surprise me if they equalled the success of the Monarchs in 2014.

With respect, I think it's obvious Willowman wasn't able to witness first hand, the well being of Cook after the crash, because as he was having to deal with a fence panel that had blown into the crowd. I don't know Willowman, but I'm presuming from his post that he is a Steward there. Â That's how I read it...open to correction.
bigcatdiary
Glad it cheered you up, after the season you have had so far I would be on suicide watch. Saddled with 5pt averages that both are making a mockery of, nothing courageous about it, May did his homework. Â A very very good side with Allen in particular another Brady Kurtz in the making.

No our Willowman isn't a Steward Gresh, he was just stood next to the errant panel at the time, and 'Dealing with it' on his part entailed stopping it falling on his bonce, and those of the others stood in that area.  For the record, like you that's how I also read his post, as the fence panel came adrift after Cook's fall as far as I recall
