Mark
The closeness of the score is making it exciting, but the track doesn't look in great shape It was embarrassing celebrating beating Clegg & Bewley Crowd liked it but later results show it may never happen again. Very poor meeting with zero close racing or passing.
mdmc82
I think the racing has improved since heat 9. Garcia has been very impressive. Congratulations to Glasgow on their win 👍🏻
Solidmango
Crowd liked it but later results show it may never happen again. Very poor meeting with zero close racing or passing. You're repeating yourself. If you're not enjoying it change the channel. Terrific atmosphere and meeting here!
allthegearbutnaeidea
TBF I have seen better meetings at Glasgow but if the track was like it normally Is aka around heat 8 oneards basically you can see it would be a much bigger scoreline, congratulations Glasgow! Steve0
Well done to the Tigers That is what a speedway crowd should look and sound like on TV - well done to the promotion and fans. For all the moaners, the rain had an impact on the track and track is usually deeper than tonight which makes for great racing!
marko
Newsflash, it does not matter if the keyboard warriors are enjoying this meeting or not, Tigers fans are and that's all that is important, they will be there next week, will the keyboard warriors? Weather is crap at the moment, far from summer we should be having, tracks will be hard to get right, it is what it is, moaning about it won't help.
Popular Post Daniel Smith
I've really enjoyed the meeting tonight. What is evident and was the case when King's Lynn were Premier League, the riders care more and entertain the paying public. Everything that was on show tonight was everything that's missing from the Elite League Congratulations to Glasgow and a valiant effort from Edinburgh
Mark
You're repeating yourself. If you're not enjoying it change the channel. Terrific atmosphere and meeting here! You must have been watching a different 10 heats than me as it was dross so I did turn over as the GP is on BT Sport. As for the atmosphere I agree it did look a lively crowd. And I also said the rain played its part with the track. Edited June 29, 2016 by marky
ruckerroo
Atmosphere , the one single thing missing from nearly every track in the country. Well done to the glasgow promotion
Robinh88
Pretty average, admittedly better than Berwick, mind Edinburgh battled and actually turned up

salty
Thoroughly enjoyed that. Racing might not have been out of the top drawer, but everything else about the meeting was. Great to see such a super turn-out having such an enjoyable time at a Speedway meeting. As for Danny Ayres - might have only won Heat 2 but the crowd obviously loved his celebration - which is surely the main thing?
Endeavour
Monarchs - 11 points from 4 riders. Garcia 13 points for Glasgow from reserve spot. Credit to Dan but our other three were posted missing. Need to get a run of home wins to get up the league. Maybe have been a different season if Mark Riss had started it rather than Etheridge. TheScotsman
Mark Riss looked decent in his last 2 rides. Reckon he'll do well. Since I've not been to Ashfield, is there usually much passing or is it more like Berwick?
longlivefrankie
Good stuff, I for one enjoyed that and brought back memories of how meetings felt like for me in seventies & eighties , crowd obviously fully engaged. Well done to promotion, riders and the crowd.
Gavan
At least not all elite league fans are snobs glad to see some enjoyed it rather than expect 20 passes per meeting. There was some good close racing, ok not many passes but the weather played its part in that. Cracking atmosphere which is the norm at the majority of premier league tracks ive been to (unfortunately my club Ipswich lack that) and a bumper crowd. The doom merchants obviously expected more. And whats wrong with Ayres celebrating?? We have a lack of characters in the sport now so good on him. Don't remember to many Poole fans moaning when Zetterstrom did his dancing! Unfortunatly the elite snobs judge the premier league on a meeting on Monday on a hard track to pass with poor opposition and tonight on a weather affected track. Seen plenty of dross on sky in the elite league!!
DJEuan
Agreed it wasn't the best match to watch, track was pretty slick and times were over a second slower than we usually have.
topsoil
I'm obviously in the minority here. I enjoyed the meeting on Monday night (far better live than it was on TV). Also enjoyed the meeting tonight, the score was close until heat 14 and there was some good racing. You can go back through every meeting that has been on TV and on this forum you will see fans moaning. What was there not to like about the meeting tonight? A big crowd, plenty atmosphere, a close score. Certainly a lot of promotions could learn from the things Glasgow are doing to raise awareness of the sport. Yes, they have a big budget, but you can still promote the sport heavily by doing it smartly. And good to see they are getting their rewards with big crowds. And just a word about Danny Ayres, it would be great to have more characters like him in the sport. At Berwick a couple of years ago we had Kozza Smith, if he won a race would jump off his bike at the start line and run back to the pits high-fiving the fans, they loved it. Rest easy Elite League fans, we'll be back to the only league that provides decent racing next week ;-)
damosuzuki
Vintage stuff from the Fish. Deserved win for the tiggers. Was closer than the scoreline suggests, but Fisher was immense tbh.
