Matt Fords Vision For The Elite League In 2017.

IF the NL was on a non EL week it should pay at Poole?

IF Poole can't sustain NL nobody can!

Unfortunately its been one of those seasons where we've had the longest breaks ive known, which is not normally the case. And yes, it wasnt viable, which was a shame as look at the riders its started to produce. Newman Howarth sargeant Garrity the list goes on, so it did work. But its all down to cost, people only have so much disposable money even in Poole.

Maybe then if the EL does go to one night, therefore one meeting each fortnight at home, then the other week could be NL or PL.

The Buccs didn't work for a number of reasons. Even admission prices as low as £5 on occasion did not attract enough fans. The gulf between EL and NL just doesn't suit many supporters - and branding them 'Bournemouth' didn't help with the identity either imo!

If it works elsewhere then great, although I am a believer in a system that having an EL and a PL-standard team with some riders appearing in both sides together with the right pricing differential could work in providing regular fixtures.

Edinburgh and Sheffield have organised meetings against National league sides this season, where they put out their second strings / reserves and a couple of local youngsters as trialists / guests to even up the standard of the two teams. Would this work? A couple of challenge matches against Somerset or some other Premier League team? Would this attract fans?

The meetings need to have a point to them. The occasional friendly at the start of the season might be ok. but a smattering of meaningless 'challenge' meetings during the season - unless both sides are packed out with riders not usually seen on these shores - will not attract fans in sufficient numbers!!

so if folk havent got any money for NL how are they going to have money for more EL matches that are more expensive

Because you'd have one meeting a week, not 2. But hey, dont concern yourself.

but youve now got to have 2 sometimes 3 matches a week to get your EL Fixtures in before cut off date , and if weather turns sour it could be worse so that dont figure

13 matches left to get in .....with only about a month or just over to get them in

so going june with no matches was not really a good idea, so if you'd had one a week in june it would of worked a whole lot better for fans ...

So clearly Jon Cook doesn't want more meetings nor 6-man teams and doesn't want to move away from the Hammers Friday race night!! (Speedy Star this week!!).

Unfortunately he doen't really put forward anything constructive other than disagreeing with other promoters. All augers well for a progressive AGM??!!!!

really....common sense must be failing then down poole way, one minute your saying folks carnt afford one EL and one NL match a week, then due to having a break in june your left running about 12 matches in a month or so .

poole june fixture list was showing vitually empty in march when they were released, so the question from the fans with common sense is why on earth wasnt any matche/s arranged for june ,there was 7 teams to choose from.....

stay in your little blue matt ford can do no wrong bubble

It's ok Cook we can stay as we are then!! Cook needs to look outside his club, Matt is doing this which could result in a change of night for Poole.

Cannot comment on 6 man teams but as far as Fridays go, it is a proven fact that meetings on any other week day suffer a decrease in attendance. Similarly, attendance at anything other than meaningful league fixtures produce the same result. JC is doing no more than emphasising the issues that affect the viability of the Hammers as an EL club. Who has put forward both constructive and viable (for clubs generally, rather than their own) alternatives?

your deluded .....if you believe that a match with any of the other 7 elite teams (or even a challenge with a pl club) couldnt be arranged in june from the beginning of the season...you really should be carted off to the mental home ....

that is cuz hes following other promoters with a win at all cost attitude , so anything that doesnt work out for his team is a no go

and that is the reason why speedway is going down the swanney

We all no there was no matches for Poole in June because football loving Matt Ford didn't want meetings while the European Championship was on.

He doesn't want six man teams?

Yet Lakeside arrange meetings that attract exactly that quite regularly!!?

Three riders from the official away team, three guests from anywhere and rider replacement...

At least 'official' six man teams may mean one less guest or no R/R each Friday!!😁
