Edinburgh Vs Glasgow 24/06/16

Looks like too much Buckfast has affected your optic nerve if you reckon that's just a puddle :P

Or is it just a normal case of Weegie paranoia towards the reigning PL Champs?

What would you call it? For your information I have never even handled a bottle of Buckfast never mind tasted it.

For all those who were sceptical about this match being postponed due to a waterlogged track, take a look at this picture on the Monarchs Official website:-

http://www.edinburghmonarchs.co/news-centre/article/2016-06-24/washed-away-again

No doubt some will claim track photographer Ron MacNeill has doctored the image

No puddles on the track at 7:30.

Don't suppose this was anything to do with Sam Masters not going to make it ??? surely Edinburgh wouldn't do such a think - maybe dodgy burger - save you the bother just call it off eh !!

He was down to ride in the declared teams the plot thickens I'm sure Stewart will be aware off this if true.

Don't sell Buckfast through an optic just drink by the neck tasty tipple on your day off beats the east coast methadone brigade any day off the week.

Still no reply to the fact there were no puddles on the track at 7:30.

Doesn't suit to reply as we all know they weren't any and one poster still has the audacity to bring up the sun off 5 years on only when it suits.

Ok boys, I was at the track when the call off was made and it was no surprise at all. The two afternoon downpours (1 was more of a monsoon) and the weather forecast made the decision easy. Sadly, the forecast rain changed its mind and the evening was dry....... No way of knowing that would happen. The damage was already done tho' and I'm afraid promoters are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

I hope you have better weather on Wednesday but, as I said on your thread, you'll be ok as you will have tv cameras to prove it

Good luck as I am really looking forward to it....... C ya!

There was no surface water on the track at 7:30.

So what damage are we talking about here.

For pity's sake George..... You live in Scotland....... Pouring rain wets things, including speedway tracks

Does there have to be surface water for it to be completely sodden below?

While I am not questioning that you had rain in the afternoon, the forecast I looked at said there would be no rain after 6pm which was correct. It is a damned if you do and damned if you don't nowadays, but fans will will not take a chance these days because of these decisions. yr.no is the site I use which is Norwegian but seems to be more accurate than BBC and other British sites. Its no good Promoters moaning about low attendances when they make erratic decisions when to call matches off.

Tbf if anybody was in the paisley area on Saturday we had a tropical type storm around 5 oclock and it flooded many many streets in less than 30 mins. If the meeting went ahead it may have been a non racing event.

We don't want to risk riders in dodgy conditions and neither do Edinburgh.

Wednesdays meeting should be a cracker!

We are usually criticised for waiting till the last minute....... But this is the problem, when do you call it off? Early to save people travelling - last minute when fans are queuing at the gate - after a few non-event wobbly races or a few crashes - damned either way!!!

I definitely don't want to watch "non-event speedway" and I definitely don't want to see riders injured

This problem will remain until we all have roofed stadiums........... Or the damned rain stops
