footy doesn't start till 8 . up till then it's just the drivel from pundits . should be able to fit both in i should think

If it's drivel, why do you think all sports broadcasters show it and millions of people watch it?

"Everyone's out of step except me" syndrome.

Even though we won and beat a good side like Kent, I'm disappointed we threw away quite a few points with falls or poor performances.

The track prepared was simply not good enough especially early on, seemed too patchy which caught our riders out more than Kent. It shot us in the foot.

I was impressed with the two jacks, they both rode well as did Danyon Hume apart the one ride he came off. Too many bad rides though from a few in to top 5. Bearing that in mind it's pleasing we won but 4 points isn't enough to take down there.

Just want to say what awesome performance from Danny Ayres. Unbeatable.

I agree with Speedibee, the punditry is dire. If I record football then plus 30 gets plenty of use, can make up my own mind about the action thanks.

It was actually catching riders out from both sides the whole night, right up until Luke Bowen fell while second in Heat 15 and Kent lost the 5-1 which would have secured a draw. A four-point win for Birmingham was a fair reflection of the meeting.

In a way, the poor track spoilt the meeting. You had two teams fully committed, but without the track they needed to turn an OK meeting into what would have been an absolute corker.

Danny Ayres was awesome. Looked completely untroubled.

All the best

Rob

I said I would be happy with a 6-8 deficit so 4 points is good.

All I can say is thank you Mr Danny Ayres.

Kent`s reserves get hammered 21-1 ?

All set up now for a cracker 2nd leg.

A real blow for Kent,as Bowen injured himself in the last Heat and misses the 2nd leg.

Will have to use a Guest, which is a real shame as I like to see Kings riders trying to win the Trophy.

he has a higher average than Ellis at the moment but not sure if that's allowed? Jake Knjght also beaten all Birmingham heat leaders. Dan greenwood? Plenty of options that won't necessarily put you on the back foot Edited by Al3x200

Greenwood or Ellis but tbf as it's a minor break and a cup final I would expect Luke may be there Monday (although as a cheerleader by the sounds of it.)

Did Toms Bacon & Perry take rides after the meeting? How did they get on?

They both took a spin; Bacon looked good, did not notice Perry but he did have a spin. Edited by teaboy279

If we can't get D Greenwood i'd go for Ben Wilson again, i think that would put Ayres at number 1.

Get well soon Captain Luke.

BYW

you know that the guest always goes in for the rider they replace. So even if the average is lower than Ayres they will still ride at number 1. Whoever rides for Bowen will have the 10.6 average he has attained which would make it sensible to abuse that size average and get a good number 1 guest Edited by Al3x200

Blimey Alex, I find that I 100% agree with your post.

That's my understanding too.

Realistic options are in order of likelyNess is

Greenwood (D)

Morley

Branford

Ellis

Would't be unhappy with any of those especially in that order. D.Greenwood is the obvious choice given his recent record around Central Park but there is something poetic about Morley being involved in such a key meeting as he was part of the Kings journey from the start.
