screm
Last time I was at Berwick we drew and it was a fantastic meeting. Loads of passing. Looking forward to this but would advise the likes of Blobby to watch the England game. And don't come to Glasgow on the Wednesday, that'll be even worse. When Shielfield is well prepared the racing is as good as anywhere else and you can bet the club will pull out all the stops for this one. The changes to bend three seem to give the riders three options now going in where there was really only one line in the past, hopefully that will improve the racing. topsoil
It's a pity the football is on the same night, because I can see the crowd numbers being affected by this. Certainly the crowd for the meeting against Edinburgh last week looked down on usual because it clashed with an England game. Either way this is going to be a very big test for the in-form Bandits. You know Vissing will be fired up for his return, Wells always goes well at Berwick and Hansen is in a rich vein of form. Workington will be a very tough team and Berwick will need to be on top form to get anything from this.
To The Point
In the words of the great Basil, you started it! Actually, I was thinking of pointing out how Sky do seem to like going to tracks where the standards have been dramatically improved, such as Berwick post-Peter, and more recently Glasgow. If the Rye stadium reconstruction matches their track improvements, then they might also get a future reconsideration. I would be inclined to think the reason Sky pick a particular meeting is for good TV, I hope not but the possibility of Workington winning away and causing an upset, is more to their agenda

Well, according to a recent Newcastle programme, Sky are only at Glasgow and Berwick next week because these two tracks' supporters' clubs paid Nigel and Kelvin to do their roadshow for them during the winter!

The point is it was done and was common practice at the point, probably started by the Italian chippy owners. Did you ever steam a pie on, using the steamer on the coffee machine, that was another method used.
