screm
I've seen dull meetings at Peterborough & Somerset, supposedly great race tracks. Don't think Sky could predict how poor Workington would be, but Berwick just blew them away from the starts. You can't deny the track shape doesn't help. Whilst I get your point, the track shape is what it is and we have had very good meetings at Berwick, this season's meeting with Redcar arguably the best. Maye more should be made of how poor Workington were as to the reason for the lack of entertainment last night, not great when you see a riders bike fail twice before he has started a race, another fail to get anywhere near scoring a point, and another who it appears clearly didn't want to be there in the first place.

Fromafar
It's time this anticipating the start lark was put to bed,if a rider doesn't touch the tapes let it go if he does take the "chance"and touches the the tapes he is excluded. That was a joke last night and at most meetings it doesn't matter because for all the re-runs there is usually another couple that could have been " brought back" that weren't .

It's simple or should be, DONT MOVE, DONT TOUCH THE TAPES, it a is legitimate start. Isn't that why they put the second line in at the tapes. One of thought that it was pretty obvious even to the most stupid in society that thye idea was to be the fastest out of the tapes, and if you anticipate it perfectly you cannot be too fast out of the tapes. tyretrax
But unfortunately some ref just want to be the big man, or woman, in control.

TheScotsman
Tape faffing around is one thing - the ridiculous need to keep topping up the tank after each one is quite another. Â As far as I am concerned, once the bikes are at the tapes for the first attempt, no-one should allowed to fiddle around with the bikes again until the race has finished, unless of course there was a crash. Â No refuelling / no clutch adjusting / no chain adjusting / etc.. Â JUST GET ON WITH IT!!

Shadders
Didnt think Pearson and Tatum were very impressed by the meeting last night although they complemented the Promotion on their hospitality and effort to make them welcome. If you go to a restaurant where the owners are warm and welcoming, but the food is crap, would you want to hurry back?

Wasn't the second line at the gate meant to stop all that, but I agree with you if a riders makes a start without touching the tapes I fail to see why the race should be brought back. For example the only rider who touched the tapes last night was Theo Pijper, who should IMO opinion been excluded as this rule that if the bike touches the tapes your out but if the rider touches the tape your fine should be tidied up so if anything touches the tapes your excluded. He was probably trying to cover his embarrassment at such an inept performance I could not make the meeting last night, nor do I waste my money on Sky. The few fans I have seen today said there was some good racing at times. I believed it would have been a close meeting, but alas Workington didn't come to the races, and as said, you can only race what is in front of you, the problem is that is 2 teams on the trot that didn't turn up, Ipswich last time now Workington
TheScotsman
Â that would have been a hard one after 4 attempts of the first heat.. Â Why? Â Plan ahead and fill the tank enough. jenga
chains stretch during a start , clutches need adjusting and fuel burns off and needs replacing due to the small fuel cell on the bikes . Â as for the clown that forgot to put his steel shoe on , that was coco the clown .. Â rasser now has a dummy . sam masters left one at workington last time he was there . so it was sterilized and give to rasser . problem solved .
