National Stadium - Saturday PL Pairs. Sunday PLRC. Problem solved?

Problem only solved if you live north of Watford. Two meetings "oop north"? Forget it.

Anyway, the night before the GP is ideal, Somerset's ideal and the rules have been in place for years.

Get on with it.

Watford to Belle Vue approx 190 miles. Berwick to Belle Vue approx 210 miles. So your point?

Well Sheffield have to start as favourites.

Ridiculous how top 4 riders aren't riding

Total and utter joke - totally devalues the competition and will also have an effect on the crowd attendence countering any argument about having the meeting before the GP to boost the crowd.

Surely a national event should be about the spectacle and not the size of the crowd or how much can be made from it??

It should be about the speedway, same as the British semi finals being rigged to boost attendences by having home riders at home to boost the crowd.

How about all national events are held at the ermmm, national stadium in future?? Is that not what its for??

As for this years pairs, unfortunate but shows the quality of british rider or lack of, that the top 4 are all eligable for the second division. Not point crying over it.

2 of them chose not to ride in the Premier League at the start of the year and you expect them to be included in this event having only ridden a handful of PL matches?! Now that's a joke!

Why not let's change the date and venue of one of the most popular events of the season because it doesn't suit a couple of teams? Then when the re-arranged date doesn't suit somebody else we will change it again. Then when we can't find a suitable date to suit everybody we'll cancel it.

Personnally i couldnt care less if them 2 riders were included, the fans want the best riders available at this meeting or are yet again feeling somewhat shortchanged, call it cheating or whatever you want but if teams can field 2 top riders in the meeting so be it, far better than watching the second strings.

Of course you can arrange it the day before a big event which rules out three of the better riders and then mention rules (not in the SCB rulebook) that rule out another three of the better riders, then you don't get a suitable crowd because no one can be bothered to support it, then cancel it like they did with the EL pairs.

There is always the chance that this date has been in the diary for 6 months longer than it has been known who would be riding in Cardiff and that to call it off and re-arrange would mess the stadium and the promotion organising it about, as well people that have organised holidays and/or accommodation around the meeting and potentially other fixtures that have been arranged around it... yes, its a shame that a few top riders aren't going to be there, but that wasn't to be known when it was organised. Having the fixture on the Friday night has worked for a number of years, why would they look to change it this year?

In relation to the non-eligible riders - that has been the case for as long as I can remember, so it isn't like that have invented a new rule just to annoy people.

Cook and Kurtz shouldnt even come into the equation at all.

King Lambert and Worrall missing so feel for Newcastle in particular

Farcical this meeting is now held when it is.

Its a spectacle for the Premier League and now that more and more premier league riders are near the top of the leaderboard in the British Final, then chances are each season 3 or 4 top riders will be missing.

Time to get this meeting back to where it belongs. By all means keep it at Somerset but move the date away from the gp

If Newcastle felt so srongly that their top 2 riders are missing, then why didn't they pull out of the meeting????

And what purpose would it serve by changing the date?

There will always be one or two riders unavaible due to injury lack of availability etc.

you are correct injuries cant be helped.

but as the standard of reserves and wildcards in the Cardiff GP is of a level of top premier league riders then every year you will have top boys missing
