Woz01
You can put younger riders in the qualifying round or even race off but the final? Would be absolutely crazy doing that.
Gavan
lol at Shovlars comments! Let's put a rider who races in the National league in the top 4 for the World Cup!!!! Sorry my sides are hurting!!!! Good rider Ellis but Bates had achieved far more internationally than Ellis but hey you got those specs on that can't see past Poole riders!!! 2x British Under 21 champion (beating Lambert and.....Ellis) and currently 3rd in the world standings ( ahead of......Ellis) gives him far more reason to be picked ahead of Ellis. Sidney the robin
If you think Bates should be picked over Ellis you have a lack of Speedway knowledge. Harsh but true. Without wearing any Poole blinkers Ellis is a far superior rider who likes big tracks and can pass. Poole have yet to visit Belle Vue due to the BV management scared of re-arranging the A fixture for fear of being turned over, so Ellis has not yet had a chance to ride the track, but you can be sure he will take to the wide open spaces and I am sure he will get the nod over Bates, who has done ok this season and should be allowed in the pits to watch and learn. Ellis at the moment is a much more complete rider. Not that it will matter much anyway, because he won't get a ride bar an injury. I will be there cheering England on (this teamgb thing is so 1990 and theres no scots or welsh in it anyway) but I think the closest we will get to the rostrum is watching the awards from the pits. I hope I am wrong but we stand no chance. The BV riders have been crap around their track bar S Worrall. Harris seems to ride a first bend to get out of the way. Nicholls is too old, Cook is nowhere near good enough and neither is King. Their time has gone. Only Woffinden and young Lambert deserve their places. And I would be brave if I was Rosco as the Danish manager was a few years ago. Use the kids. The old guard are not going to do anything for England, so why not blood youngsters? They could well come in 50 metres behind, but what experience in front of a partisan crowd? And really they couldn't do a lot worse than our so called best of Brits. Woffinden Lambert S Worrall A Ellis Res. Bates Of course Rosco wouldn't be that brave but he has nothing to lose. We are not going to win anyway. Woffinden King Harris Cook. Res. Ellis I would enjoy going with the younger team myself. Again the man who is in his own little BLUE WORLD, of course you can make a case for both riders so nothing to do with having speedway knowledge all down to opinions hopefully IMPARTIAL ones!!!🤓 Edited July 22, 2016 by Sidney the robin

THE DEAN MACHINE
Unless rosco knows the team already I take it the whole squad have all had their GB kevlars made just incase ? Cause you can't knock them all up after practice Edited July 22, 2016 by THE DEAN MACHINE
OveFundinFan
I think only 6 can practice, from which the 4 man team plus under 21 reserve is picked. and whilst the squad of 10 is known, Roscoe has not yet named the 6. Cause you can't knock them all up after practiceI have wondered how long it would take for someone to work that out, Either The team Has already been selected or they have spent a fortune on kevlars for everyone which I don't think would happen. I guess the team will be announced tomorrow Edited July 22, 2016 by robert72

Steve Shovlar
So have this squad of ten spent the last two weeks up in Manchester practicing on the NSS track? Thats what the Poles would have done on their own track to make sure they are dialled in. Havent heard any of the Belle Vue fans on here mentioning the roar of bikes on any afternoon. Whats going on here?

Whats going on here? No they have not which is something I have been surprised about. I agree with what you say that a practice should have been held before now even though the track at BV is still changing. The Danes used to take a complete squad plus youngsters who may well be the next batch of Danish Internationals to KL before or at the start of each season when the WC was held there. I believe that a reduced squad from the original named will be named in the next couple of days and if allowed I hope that they get to practice at BV early next week. Joe Beevers
Somebody said Nicholls. Now I like Scott but his form of late around his home track has been very poor. You have to pick the form riders for the track and not the best 5 riders in Britain. After Tai, I think Lambert has been very consistent this year and is in good form home and abroad. 2nd in the British Final and a revelation last year in the World Cup so he should go. Danny King has had some awful form for his two league clubs but his recent exploits not only at the British Final but a very credible 7 points in the GP puts him in good stead. I am not totally convinced on Craig Cook because I think he falls short against top riders but his recent form and experience around Belle Vue is enough to get ahead of Harris. Gavan
For me now the team will be Tai - obvious choice King - British Final winner and in form Cook - Home track knowledge Lambert - probably on form the second best in the country Bates - will be poor from the management if they leave out our British Under 21 champion and current number 3 in the world standings of the event
robert72
Leaving out Bomber would be a bad mistake, nobody gives more to British speedway than him and he ups his game for team GB
