Wackie
I think the team will end up along the lines of... 1. Woffinden (capt) 2. King 3. Lambert 4. Bomber Res. Bates I wouldn't touch Cook for a barge pole. He may well be a home track rider, but relys too much on his gating, which may do him ok in the EL, but won't be a match against most of the other riders lining up in the final. Bomber seems to go up a notch when competing in a team and you can't beat his bulldog spirit. If it's not Bomber, I'd go for Worral and give him the experience.
Joe Beevers
It will be one of two if the manager has sense to go with riders who can ride the track. 1) Woffinden 2) Cook 3) King 4) S Worrall 5) Lambert or 1) Woffinden 2) Cook 3) King 4) Lambert 5) Bates or Ellis? Anything else and I would be surprised
tyretrax
12 noon on raceday- and before someone asks practice for race-off is also on Friday raceday at 12 noon. Is practice free or does gate money go to the Ben Fund or Tai? Thought I would ask on behalf of someone who may be too shy to ask. From what the Star say its Tai,King,Lambert nailed on and either Cook or Harris for spot 4

From what the Star say its Tai,King,Lambert nailed on and either Cook or Harris for spot 4 I read in one of the recent Stars that Harris said he doesn't deserve to go after his British Final performance. To be honest, you could laugh but I would say Paul Starke is in better form in the UK at the moment and he also scored double of what Chris did in the British Final. Absolutely nothing against Bomber but I think there are better riders at that track at this time especially Worrall as he rides that track well most weeks. Its also hard to discount Chris Harris's performance in previous World Cup's. He has a habit of riding above his current form in World Cup week. Don't envy Rosco as if we finish last he will have been deemed to have picked the wrong team
mdmc82
As much as Steve Worrall has made progress this year and is a Belle Vue rider he will not be in World Cup starting 4. From what the Star say its Tai,King,Lambert nailed on and either Cook or Harris for spot 4 I would agree with that and can see those being the riders they take. Worrall has progressed a lot this year compared to other draft riders but there's a big difference coming up against reserves & 2nd strings and coming up against Emil, Hancock & Pawlicki.

I used to think Cook was just a gater but I have seen him make some great moves from the back in the last couple of years. Where Cook may rely largely on his gating, what does Harris have to rely on? He can't gate at this level too often so the best you can hope for is him is to score from the back, which won't be easy. Cook over Harris for me all day long. OveFundinFan
Is that, though, the team of 6 that goes to official practice. Any one know if there has been any British rider practice at BV, the team of 10 that is.
Steve Shovlar
After what we saw at Poole last night, bring your white flag with you for the final. God help us with King and Harris. Never going to get near third place. One thing is clear is Ellis must be nailed on for reserve, not that it will make any difference. chris4gillian
Assuming the team is Tai, Lambert And Cook plus one of Harris, Scotty or King (with Ellis as No. 5) are we destined to just be 4th? Breaking it down I'd suggest; Tai will be good for at least 12 points Lambert should get a solid 6 or 7 points Cookie on his home track should be good for around 7 or 8 points So the last rider only really needs to grab around 4 or 5 points for us to get something out of the meeting. And let's be honest that should be a walk in the park for any of Harris, Scotty or King. For me the worry is Cook, if he's on it we'll be ok but if he's not we'll struggle. He's so up and down you never know what you're going to get. I also think Scotty is still in with a shout...probably just because I've always had a soft spot for the guy. And personally I don't think King should be considered. One good meeting in freak conditions doesn't justify his pick as he's been very average everywhere else all season. As for Bomber, well you know they guy will give you 100% every ride, but is that good enough on current form? Maybe not. Whatever happens I will be supporting our boys no matter who rides, COME ON TEAM GB!! p.s. Rosco may sucker punch us all and go with Tai, Lambert, Bomber and Scotty (and Ellis)... a year ago we would all have been saying that was a strong squad. You never know, stranger things have happened

Woz01
So no place for CHris Harris in either of those teams you would rather see an FTR ( bates) than world Number 15 ..Genius !!!The reserve has to be u21 and can only be used if one of the top 4 is injured during a meeting. People suggesting Bomber isn't in form but that isn't the case in the EL 13, 9+2, 10, 11+1, 10+1, 7, 9+1 are his recent scores. I've said already he'd be the one to miss out though. You could be "the Genius" because the no5 is U21 and has no programmed rides and is there only to replace any riders injured during the match.
chris4gillian
With the current World Cup format, we'll need a lot more points than those. No we won't, have you checked last years Final team scores? 1st Sweden - 34pts 2nd Denmark - 32pts 3rd Poland 27pts 4th Aussies - 26pts It's 4 not 5 man tournament now so my post is indicating we should and could score around 30(ish)pts which is more than enough! What are you basing your statement on? Edited July 21, 2016 by chris4gillian
