A ORLOV
It does seem a shame that Tai and Lambert were not at the practice, although Robert had a good session there at the British Final.

hyabb17
Was it an official practice or arranged at short notice? Woffy is experienced enough to be able to pick up the track easily enough & come Saturday for the final it'll will be under the control of Ole Olsson so will be different from normal. Â Woffy's good enough to not practice at all and still get double figures, but being captain means he should be there giving his less experienced team mates advice and pointers instead of getting another bloody tattoo! Â I can't imagine Iversen missing any practice sessions for Denmark, official or otherwise.
hyabb17
Well that maybe true he's allowed time off like the rest of us & what he does with that is entirely his decision. Â As long as he helps the other riders on the day of the meeting I see no issue to trash someone for missing one practice. customhouseregular
How many times do we hear riders say "The track was totally different from practice", even if practice was the day before. Practice on a track 5 days before the event must have limited value when so many factors can influence the way the track rides come race day.

foamfence
While Tai and Robert might or might not have gained much from the practice, I think it would have sent out a better message and statement of unity and intent if ALL team members had been there. Maybe that could be a requirement next time?
Star Lady
Maybe all of this could have been avoided by the BSPA/SCB or heaven forbid the team manager issuing a statement that practice was voluntary/compulsory/impromptu. Â It seems that the fans and their opinion, of whatever persuasion, really don't matter.

Star Lady
maybe next time wait until after the official practise happens  this wasnt the official practise session.  So a couple of fans have said. Surely it would be better for someone in an official capacity to say so. If as has been rumoured it was a last minute impromptu thing I have far less of a problem than if it was arranged a while ago. I would still question the priorities of Lambert & Woffinden but could see their reasoning.  I can't see Cieslak or Nielsen allowing 2 of their riders to be absent tho, maybe that;s the difference between being champions and also rans

It seems that the fans and their opinion, of whatever persuasion, really don't matter. Even if it was voluntary you'd like to think the captain would be in attendance instead of getting a tattoo. Cook and S.Worrall rode practice and they've done more laps than anyone round there. It's also about team bonding, it's not great that some are doing all they can to gain a bit of an advantage while the captain hasn't got a similar mindset. It's certainly not guaranteed that Tai will score bucket loads against this class of opposition. Lambert should've been there too, it's not like it's an important event or anything. Star Lady
  but as per usual on this forum it is shoot people without know ANY facts at all.. maybe they all went to the same school Tony Blair went to.   The reason the fans dont know any facts is because as usual they have been treated like mushrooms, which was my point. The authorities.manager/riders etc expect the fans to turn up to watch the meeting but don't seem to think they need to be told anything else. Some riders are very good at using social media to keep their fans updated some only seem to use it when it suits them Quite honestly if they are in the public eye and allow their profiles to be public they should be a bit more savvy  As for Tony Blair.....don't swear at me
