Hunters
Hope Jade Mudgway is not too badly hurt after his accident. They did not say what the problem was just whisked him off to hospital. The meeting was disappointing. Danny Ayres was like lighting out of the gate which also earned him two warnings and a fine. He was very impressive and seem to get better every time he comes here. If only Adam Ellis had been around we could have had three cracking races. Jake Knight put in a couple of good chases but staying with and getting by are different things. I think the pressure contributed to Danny's mistake in heat 15, 25 yards from the finish, an exact replica of Kyle Hughes accident on Good Friday but fortunately without an injury this time. Ryan Blacklock was a big let down, he looked so good when he came last year we were rather hoping he might join us but every one of his nine points was at the expense of one of the reserves. They had to take 24 rides between them and before his accident Jade looked a bit at sea and even lost to Charlie Powell. Consequently there were few things to enthuse about although there were a couple of tussles between the reserves.
stevec
I am glad you started this thread. It surprising there wasnt one up and I am keen to here news on Jade. We often see what us speedway fans call 'classic collar bone' accidents and that was similar except he hit the ground so hard! It really was nasty and so was the initial aftermath, he was clearly not in a good state. For me, the meeting and result are irrelevant until we hear if he is okay. As for the rest? Well, I am a great fan of Danny Aires, he gets better and better snd rides with his heart. Mark Baseby was a cracking guest. Jake Knight is mr Entertainment

A bit battered and sore but still made it to Mildenhall for the second half of the meeting to help his team mates out.

woofers
Good to hear that Jade is OK, there were some awkward moments immediately after the incident which were quite alarming. I was impressed with Danny Ayres, have always thought he would be a useful addition to the Eagles if an opportunity arose. Less impressive was the reaction of some of the Eastbourne crowd when he hit the fence yards from the finish line in heat 15, particularly the 2 chaps at the back of the start / finish grandstand giving the vigorous "handshakes" towards him as he rode past. Given what we had witnessed earlier in the evening I think the gestures said more about themselves than anything else.
Hackett
Buxton were pretty poor and fortunate to have a guest as good as Danny Ayres. He has got better every visit around Arlington and certainly showed the Eagles the fastest way round the track. He deserved a full maximum but blew it on the last bend. Fair play to Ayres as although a guest was helping out and helping the injured Buxton rider. With Adam Ellis out for a few weeks I would think that Ayres would certainly be considered as a guest for the Eagles. Plus Baseby was good value for the Eagles too. Good to see Georgie Wood looking a lot more competitive too ....

I hate it as well and when he came past us we clapped and cheered him, he is entertaining an its riders like him that make speedway. I am sure those that cheered him coming off would not wish him hurt!!. They would soon be cheering him if he rode for us.

I was not impressed either but unfortunately it seems to happen in many places we had a similar situation with some Brummie fans in the gold cup last year. A sign of the deterioration of so called civilisation over the last 50 years. People seem to take vile and abusive language as the norm nowadays, very sad, no class.

I am sure those that cheered him coming off would not wish him hurt!!. They would soon be cheering him if he rode for us. Exactly the same 12 years ago with Nicki Pedersen, only took a meeting to change around. I'm sure as well apart from the odd idiot( or 2!), even the people who boo the opposing riders don't go down that route if he's lying on the track with an injury, might do it if he's up and ok and going back to the pits, but hasn't that always happened through the decades?I remember chanting 'cheat cheat ' to Bjarne Pedersen when he 'fell ' off to gain a tactical ride in the next heat whilst riding for Poole against us, and cheering him on a couple of years later when he rode for us . Just part of any team sport I suppose when they change from one team to another.Happens more with speedway than most sports because of the guest ruling. We had to suffer Eastbourne so called fans cheering when Adam Ellis fell off ----not cheering when he falls off now are they i bet.......i never agree with foul language anywhere whether at Birmingham Eastbourne or anywhere else for that matter---as you said no class.
