Centre Green Rule

Recommended Posts

He could have gone under the tapes, or over them as well... No offences committed in those routes..

Exactly that. Already said if I was a rider Id roll up to the tapes, call over the start marshal ans if he didn't move the tapes I'd ride over them. But would that be delaying the start?

She didn't change her mind. She was correct.

Payne went clockwise and found himself on the wrong side of the tapes with the two minutes fast running out. If he'd started heading anti-clockwise he'd have been OK as he was on the track heading towards the gate in the direction of racing.

But he chose to ride around the starting gate, which is technically riding on the centre green, and was rightly disqualified.

He should have got off his bike and walked it round the start gate then got on it again, no offence committed.
