erniew
Just seen at the Glasgow - Newcastle meeting, Richie Worrall went through the tapes in heat 15 and instead of going off 15m or being replaced by a reserve he was replaced by Aaron Summers, a heat leader! Have they changed the rules?
BWitcher
I believe they have to be replaced by another rider eligible for Heat 15. Â i.e. a heat leader or one of the top 3 scorers?
erniew
Great! so you don't get penalised for a tapes infringement.
screm
In the recent Berwick v Newcastle meeting, Berwick`s Theo Pyjper was excluded for tape touching in Ht15, on this occasion Berwick were forced to use Pyjper off 15m, I`d love to know the reason why Glasgow were allowed to use Summers and Berwick weren't allowed to replace Pyjper.

screm
 Because Berwick didn't know the rules?  Alex Davies hit tapes and replaced by Stefan Nielsen at Scunthorpe last week.  All the best Rob  Berwick`s team manager argued that Berwick shouldve been allowed to replace Pyjper, the referee ruled they couldn't and had to use Pyjper off 15m, Berwick did know the rules it appears the on night referee didn't.
2ndbendbeerhut
James Sarjeant touched the tapes at Foxhall v Sheffield and went off 15m even though Risager or a reserve should have replaced him. No comment from Witches as to why they got it wrong! (Rule is 15.14.3)

lucifer sam
 IMO lack of proper punctuation in the rule book is the least of our worries.  On the contrary, SCB and I once had a 5-page discussion caused by a badly placed comma and how it possibly changed the interpretation of a certain rule  All the best Rob
stevehone
so in a tactical (cynical) point of view, if a rider needs more time to be ready for heat 15, nominate someone else to go out and break the tapes, and then get put in as replacement
bigcatdiary
Rules say replaced by another eligible rider. Not reserves and not 15 metres. Changed for this year  Reserves or another eligible rider  In the right circumstances that could be anyone else, doesn't make a lot of sense but then that's our rulebook
