Why is it a shocking result, the best team on the night won

Here we go.

Nobody expected that result not even Leicester fans.

You might have but that wouldn't surprise me as you have a habit of being on your own with ideas on here.

Very embarrassing for Rossiter - he could have used Injury rider replacement for Tungate (and tracked Grajczonek and Morris instead of Nielsen and Wright)... but either chose not to or it never occurred to him!

To me Leicester are a better team than Poole because they beat us by 4 and you only did us by 2. I also think Leicester is a better track than Poole and Gavan knows more about speedway than you. Up the Lions. Greatest EL team in history.

Umm the main reason Leicester won is cos they had a Poole rider. How many points did he get again? :D

Edit - shape wise Leicester is worse but might be prepared better?

Is there a rule about how many rides a rider can have had before that ceases to be an option?

Inexcusable if the rules do allow him to have used it.

It looks unbalanced, seeing Kurtz getting 17 at reserve, but is it that influential on the win?

While Kurtz is scoring big down there, Starke is struggling for points in the top 5.

Excluding the nominated heat (which is an extra heat and he would probably stlll have been in it), Kurtz scored 16. Starke scored just 4. That's 20.

On the form he was on Kurtz would probably have scored at least 10 in the top 5 from his programmed rides, and Starke could have probably scored more than 10 at reserve to make more than 20 points.

It's unbalanced the sides, but I'm not sure it had a major influence on the final result. In fact Leicester might have won by more with Starke at reserve.

Leicester's win has nothing to do with another freaky 15+ score by an away reserve, just the same as Swindon's win at Belle Vue, oh no!

Correct. Swindons edr outscored Leicester comfortably, but Starke would clearly have scored more from reserve. Kurtz scored 10+1 from 4 non reserve heats prior to heat 15, so clearly had the beating of all the robins riders bar Doyle. Had he an stake swapped positions doubt scores would have been much difference.

Though you do wonder how much impact the confidence boost of an easy first up win impacts on riders

If you think about it, far better to lose to a team like Leicester than a team like Lakeside who you're battling for the play-offs with if you want to try and look on the bright side Swindons fans.

Meanwhile the rest of us will chuckle at the fact a team have lost at home to Leicester.

Agreed. Have to say that Leicester team had no riders you would consider a genuine hl let alone a number one, but a good effort from them. This season is reinforcing that king and watt should never have been on the hl list.

Yes - two.

...and there were two left so definitely available.

Results like this pop up from time to time. Poole losing at home to Belle Vue a few years ago when BV were bottom and crap. Lakeside did it as well.

Swindons defeat comes from a little complacency, and Kurtz banging in a big score. If Swindon had ridden as hard as they did on Monday they would probably have won. Such are the joys and dispairs of sport.

Could all Wolverhampton,Lakeside,Coventry,Belle Vue,Kings Lynn and Poole supporters stop laughing at the poor old Roobins!!

I mean it's not like Swindon are the only team to lose to Leicester this season....er......umm...."Watt.they've done it twice??"....oh hang on a minute......on second thoughts.........bwwaahahahahahaha!!!

(Sorry Swindon fans, couldn't resist) :t::lol:

Don't forget you can't include Watt who was aound no.10 or King who was around no.15 in the averages.

Good luck.

This isn't the benefit of hindsight, myself and scb argued it at the time. There shouldn't have necessarily been 24. It should have been based on riders who rode mostly at hl last year and thus had artificially low averages. The whole concept of a hl list then becomes even more flawed when it is disregarded from may onwards.

Definitely true.

Swapping reserves and second strings round is just shifting the points around.

I said the same thing when Swindon were having big scores at reserve.

What does cause problems, though, is those big scoring reserves then being forced into heatleader positions. That's when there are points dropped.

This race format really is a shambles now that reserves can move up.

Who was Kurtz guesting for btw? (That's a proper qustion. I don't know.)

Szymon Wozniak. He dropped to reserve on Monday but the Polish Authorities have withdrawn permission to ride in the UK

Well done to the lions

Don't think any of us lions fans would have expected that result

Well done nicolai klindt our most consistent performer by far and to Brady Kurtz (not really a lion but maybe one that got away)

Credit to Norrie for managing to get him as a guest.

Just need the rest of the boys to step up and hopefully there's better things around the corner

I have to say tho this so called EDR is a complete joke it surely don't do what it's intended to.Time to get rid I reckon

Well he's hardly going to turn it down when Poole have no fixtures for 3-4 weeks.
