KIRKYLANE
Although we have had many Good Friday meetings this is the first Bank Holiday Monday that I have seen a meeting at Belle Vue. There may have been something pre 1960's
robert72
well yeah .... wen they were 'LOCAL' derbies .... cradley/coventry , cradley/wolves etc Known ones a lot further away than those on a bank holiday Monday
John Leslie
Was it the May day bank holiday that Belle Vue used to always race at King's Lynn at 11am and then at Sheffield at 7.30pm on the way back?
Woz01
Seems to be plenty of Bees fans heading up today. Not expecting anything but looking forward to seeing the new stadium and good racing. I'd take a point today!
IainB
Do yourselves a favour if you can & buy your tickets online & print at home, it'll save you a lot of time & queuing when you get here. Ticket office only has three windows & it gets really busy. But be aware that it's an extra £1 per ticket for the privilege of doing so... literally a licence to print money! It was indeed, I did a few early morning runs to Saddlebow back in the day, not the easiest journey back either what with bank holiday traffic. But be aware that it's an extra £1 per ticket for the privilege of doing so... literally a licence to print money! Just the same as any other online ticket purchase system. It's not obligatory, people are welcome to queue and buy them at the stadium. Seems like folk are running out of 'valid' reasons to have a go at BV, scraping the barrel there iainb. mdmc82
Looking at the race by race line up, I can only see a Belle Vue win. When Swindon won there, Max was missing and the Aces hadn't had much race time. I think we will struggle at reserve & with Ashley in the top 5. Not sure what mind frame Kacper will be in. Prediction 56-

emilali
As a first time visitor to the new stadium today I have a couple of questions if anyone is able to answer. Am I better getting a ticket in the grandstand or the terrace? Which has better viewing? Also can you pay by card at the gate? And finally, do you need to pay for parking? Thanks for any help. Am I better getting a ticket in the grandstand or the terrace? Which has better viewing? Also can you pay by card at the gate? And finally, do you need to pay for parking? Thanks for any help. Well I've only been once and I bought a ticket for the backstraight terrace, I ended up transferring to the grandstand although it wasn't easy and I suspect it's not something you can normally do. The grandstand facilities, catering etc are much better than on the backstraight but I suppose these will be improved as they go. I can't imagine there's a bad view from anywhere, you're close to the track wherever you stand/sit. I'm hoping that the first bend terrace will be open today, it appeals to me as a viewing spot, it's right next to the pits and looks like it will offer a cracking view of the first bend action. Parking seemed plentiful and was located just round the corner from the stadium (school) I think it was £3. Hope this helps, enjoy your first trip to the track. edit, I bought my ticket online and printed it before I set off (cos I'm loaded, apparently), so am unsure on purchasing at the track but I can't see a card being a problem. Phil The Ace
Thanks, some great info there, much appreciated. I've only ever been in the grandstand and that is great viewing. But where ever u go the viewing is remarkable. I'm trying West terrace today which is 1st bend. That view looks superb and it's next to the pits. No bad view anywhere as the terracing is well stepped and close to the track, depends if you want to stand or sit, although facilities are better in grandstand if you bothered about that. Yes you can pay by card. Official car parks are £3 but there is plenty of free parking about too Edited May 30, 2016 by Rob B
kenny bee firefly
I can see a Coventry win. Bomber has ridden the track as much as the BV riders. Garrity will love it. And it will also suit the Poles. Kacper Woryna could run riot with 7 rides at reserve. Any particular reason Garrity will love it as i cant see any ?? nw42
Any particular reason Garrity will love it as i cant see any ?? Possibly because he doesn't seem to like closing the throttle, he won't have to round there.

mdmc82
Belle Vue Twitter saying meeting is delayed by 15mins but fans are saying there is still large crowds queuing to get in. Although posts on Twitter thinking it will be later than that as the ticket system takes too long and causing massive hold ups. I guess it's still trial and error at the moment Edited May 30, 2016 by mdmc82
G the Bee
Twitter saying meeting is delayed by 30mins due to large crowds. It's because there are only 3 ticket office windows. So unless people want to pay an extra pound to print at home, you have to queue up to get a ticket, then walk with your ticket to a turnstile. Those ticket office windows have to deal with all tickets, including concessions, so, as you can imagine, the queues are big. I suspect that in the long term they are hoping people will buy tickets in advance or print at home, like the model most football clubs adopt. The problem is, I don't think people will do it if it's going to cost them an extra pound.

What kind of thinking is that, it should be the other way round surely? As for today's delays.. once again Belle Vue seem to be doing their utmost to sabotage themselves. They had this at the first meeting, lessons should have been learned and systems put in place. Especially for a Bank Holiday meeting where a bigger crowd is expected. They're shooting themselves in the foot again.
