damosuzuki
Don't agree about Glasgow tail. Worrall Barker lunna all performed below their average tonight. Lunna has had an unlucky couple of days and ayres is doing well as is garcia.if the track was better early on lunna would have taken a couple of point and Barker is riding a crap bike and is clearly injured. Good meeting and crowd, friendly geordies happy with a point.
Mike.Butler
I was afraid tis was going to be off after 6 heats had been run in 1 hr 40 mins....but the remaining 9 were completed by 9.50 and I have to say the track looked pretty good after the work done with the fastest time being recorded in the final heat which is rare though mot unique. The racing was full of incident and excitement.
SharpenRake
Thanks again for your concern about our team. But I'll say again in a play of situation we would have just knocked out a really good team. Ben may not be scoring what some people think he should but if he was someone else wouldn't and would they be getting stick. He's in our team just now as a second string but with his real average would be a heat leader in some teams!
Gazc
I may sound like a broken record but Ben Barker will come good too talented not to nobody at Glasgow are concerned as far as i am aware. Â Average increase for June and he is still hasn't got out off second or possibly third gear. Ben will be staying and once he gets back to his best then the way the other 3 heat leaders are riding then we will be very potent indeed.

In a play off situation Newcastle would have been at full strength and would have won comfortably over the 2 legs IMO. If's, but's and maybe's of course but pretty confident Lambert would score 4 or 5 more than Fisher, Rose probably double figures given what I saw on the night. Â Only an opinion and time will tell. Barker is obviously far better than he is showing at the moment and will surely improve. He needs to though.

Well said, someone like Ben does not lose his quality overnight - he will come good. And as Gazc said, his average has increased slightly and should keep on increasing as the problems are ironed out. Really you sure about that no two meeting's the same it would be too close to call as they are very evenly matched teams. Â Â He has increased his average whilst in third gear not a lot more you can say about that is there.

If it continues, he's probably going to get more injuries trying to score points on substandard equipment. If the problem is not psychological, then it could be soon, as we all know this is a confidence sport and riders must have faith in their equipment, in order to have confidence to "race" not just ride the bike Not everyone is the same, some can handle pressure better than others, hope the promotion have learnt this and treat him the correct way. baba
I have faith in Ben and I'm not concerned yet. Riders go through periods of mechanical gremlins it happens but as speedace says riders must have confidence in their equipment to be able to race. When he solves his issues we are going to be blown away with his talent in full flight he's a awesome sight.

But if Fernando and ben hadn't crashed etc I'm sure we would have scored more. So there's ifs and buts on both sides

damosuzuki
How good was Summers though?!! Â As previously stated happy with a point and anyone who wasn't there might be underestimating quite how bad the track was for the first 7 heats. We could see into the pits and they looked to be having serious discussions around it's rideability.

One of the vagaries of the rules is that Glasgow were able to use a tac ride due to being 10 points down to a weakened Diamonds team whereas the Diamonds never got the opportunity at Glasgow by being more competitive.  In a real play off situation I would back a full Newcastle team to see off the Tigers.

I'd rather have the 4 points we've got from the 2 meetings regardless of whether we used the TR or not.

BUT we could have barker at reserve by then and IF he was on form and IF he got a seven ride maximum, BUT the rest of the team were crap that night then MAYBE we could still win or MAYBE we'd get beat. What exactly is the point of this speculation?  Glasgow got a point, Newcastle missed out on a point that's just the way it goes, it's just your luck:-IFS BUTS and MAYBES.

tyretrax
We gave you a racetrack on Sunday you gave us a ploughed field on Monday and we won on aggregate There seemed to be a remote controlled tank trap on middle of 3rd/4th bend which caught out the Tigers riders. The ref was atrocious with the starts allowing Newcastle to "anticipate" and when they were off of gate two to turn left as soon as they gone a bikes length. Pinny
Sad to say after so many injuries, riders do lose their confidence somewhat, no matter how fearless they were in the past. Â In his peak barker was a sublime pl rider, however he has been slipping down the ranks for a while now. Seen it with riders before and will again. Â Cant ever see him becoming a consistent heatleader again sadly, the fact he is struggling at number 4 says its own story.

Pinny
Deary me give over man its Barkers equipment thats the problem imo. Really? Â As already stated, if it is purely equipment, hes been around long enough to know the score regarding his premier league set up requirements etc. Â I do like barker, always have, but he should be professional enough to have a good set up around him.
