Now that this bit of fun has been totally blown out of proportion and Silverbee is no longer going to be texting because of the over the top reaction by Worrall , who is the loser ? ,I'll tell you who , people who watch the Coventry updates and enjoy Silverbees funny comments , thanks for that Worrall . I'm sure those affected wont mind losing out because you had your ego bruised ,

Finding something boring is a subjective opinion. What one person feels is boring another will find exciting. Disagreeing is fine, but being 'offended'.. time to grow up.

I will test the water with you this will be my only post on this subject as i find that you tend to go on and on with post after post till the other poster gets bored and gives up and then you think you are right all the time.So i am not saying you are boring because that may offend you but my subjective opinion is that your posts on this forum are.

Speedway has a very small following.. do you know why? Because the overwhelming majority of people find it 'boring'. They're not being offensive to speedway riders, they just aren't excited by the sport.

 

Silverbee has provided a brilliant service for a number of years on the updates site and injected humour into his service which is enjoyed by many. That service may well end now because of quite frankly pathetic individuals like yourself.

 

If, as has been alluded to, Worrall has complained about the reference, then he's worthy of words that actually ARE offensive.

PS Looking at updates is it not the Worrals mum who took offence anyway? TBH mums have special dispensation for defending their boys so it looks like a storm in t-cup.

On the night I saw , Either on facebook or here , Worrall had ,had words with Silverbee and Silverbee says he wont be Texting any more . I think SCB knows Silverbee maybe he knows for sure ?

Yes. But Gordon pairman's post tbh showed he failed to fully understand the issue either Imo. Regardless of who jon cooks comments were aimed at, the logic used for the list and rules around the list were fundamentally flawed, and to accuse people criticizing the list or process of being thick was hypocritical in the extreme.

Aces51 - have u been as vocal when people accuse Greg Hancock or hampel as being boring? Fwiw I'm not sure I consider any rider boring on track, but see nothing offensive about people saying they do - particularly in this case where it was clearly at least partly tongue in cheek.

Is this just a desperate psychological ploy by SCB to try to upset Richie's mindset prior to the Aces v Bees match on Monday?

 

This was my only post on this topic so I've no idea what you are on about.

The only time I enjoyed Silvebee was when he got it wrong and gave us a 4-2 against instead of a 5-1. The only thing I look for in a texter is accuracy.

Someone said on that particular update thread that if you don't like it hit the X at the top right. I did and ive not missed it since so thanks for the advice, it had not occured to me up to then.

I use the Belle Vue army site for Aces updates and now use the SCB race card link on the BSPA website to look at other match scores, if not the speedway star.

Gordon Pairmans post didn't show he failed to understand the issue, he simply explained why the list was compiled the way if was.

 

It's not a question of who Jon Cooks comments were aimed at. They were aimed at two members of of the BSPA who, we are told voted the list through unanimously then seem to have claimed they didn't fully know what it was about. Coupled with the fact that we are now told by Muddlo and Rosco that the EDR situation was not properly thought through this year it really makes one wonder exactly what is going on at the AGM's if they are voting things through without understanding them. Be that as it may, the fact remains that the vast majority of contributors to the forum are content to stick with the view that Cooks comments were aimed at them instead of two other promoters and thus miss the seriousness of the situation.

Try reading the posts properly before you go on a rant.A few points, i said most people would take offence not things ie your speedway is boring remark i think football is boring the sport itself but that is not a personal remark to one footballer so who is there to take offence.

You quote parts of posts to suit your point of view.The quote you used was taken from a post where i was replying to another poster not a stand alone post so you have to read both post to fully understand my comments.

What has silverbee stopping updating got to do with me all i did was post my opinion on the BSF like everyone else does.I am sure as soon as he read my post he there and then decided to stop updating,Another noncence by you.It would seem if true that him speaking to a member of the Worrall family who found the boring comment offensive(shock has the same opinion as me) was the reason behind him deciding to stop.

So whats the big deal about my opinion all i have said is that i think calling a person boring is offensive.It would seem that the speedway updates mods agree with me as they have removed the comment from their sight.It would seem that at least one member of the Worrall family agrees with me.

So maybe you could accept the fact that not only your opinion counts other people think differently and they think they are right as well we will have to beg to differ.

 

Just a seperate point it was SCB and not silverbee that prompted me to post my views.With silverbee not that i agree with his comment but with his sence of humour and being at a live speedway meeting could stop you realising what you are posting could be offensive to a person.

But SCB started the thread on here about 20 hours or so after silverbees comments on updates caused a negative comment and a defensive comment from the meeting updater of which the comment was removed a little later.So scb new he was starting a controversial topic but just did it for the hell of it.

Boring doesn't mean no good. Some great riders have won most of their race from the gate, they are no less great for that, but they don't get pulses racing as much as those like Mark Loram who do it from the back. The sport needs all sorts of riders, but some, by definition are more exciting than the rest.

Steve Davis has been labelled as boring his entire career in snooker.. never ever heard it being described as 'offensive'.

The thing with SCB and Silverbee is that they make posts to be jovial or controversial.

Got no real issue with that in the same way it's not my cup of tea either.

Any texter deserves some respect because without them it stands good chance that no one else will do it.

Texters do this with no reward expected or guaranteed and should have a level of respect for taking the time to provide this service.

Silverbee's updates are enjoyed by some and not by others. Such is life.

This is the only time I'll be posting on this thread anything Silver Bee has mentioned to me (as he big enough and ugly enough to post on here himself and cause his own rubbish without me for the record) but yes he has told me he won't be doing updates any more.

 

I think that a shame, SB is what he is, a wind up merchant and piss taker. It does matter if it's his favourite rider or his least favourite rider, if he gets the chance of a dig or a funny comment he takes it. There almost never any malice, those who are friends with him will know that nobody is safe from a barbed comment from him - in fact I worry when he's nice to me and I'm one of his best friends. But you know what, he'll take rubbish back too. He hasn't told me this but I think the reason he's stopped doing the updates is because he doesn't want to cause upset, that not his intention. Yes wind people up, yes have a laugh but not genuine upset.

You just never stop do you in my last post i said we all have different opinions and we will just have to beg to differ,that should have been the end of the conversation but no you just as always have to have the last word as your opinion is always right But if you want to carry on here we go.

First of all you do twist comments to suit your point of view your last post is full of it.

Anyway no matter how you twist things the main point is that it is my opinion that calling someone boring in most cases will cause offence and you think its a nothing comment and people will not be offended.

You state in your last post to quote"you went into your ridiculous rant about most people being offended.. with of course no evidence to back that up".So from that comment i will try and defend my opinion by picking out the points from posts on this thread that i feel are evidence to back up my point of view.

1 the speedway update sight removed the boring comment,i would think because they thought it would cause offence.

2 the comment boring did cause offence to either R Worrall or a close family member to the point where they contacted silverbee to complain.

3 SCB thinks that silverbee has stopped updating because he does not want to cause upset.This says to me he knows that his boring comment has led to someone being upset/offended by it.

So with that i rest my case.If you can find any evidence to back up your opinion then post away other than that lets put it to rest.
