Blimey, why are people taking offence to this? Ridiculous!

Its a bit of harmless fun with a hint of rubbish stiring. Offensive? No way. Childish and pathetic? Yeah, probably. I've more respect for those who stated it was stupid than those saying it was offensive.

Im to take it he's looking for a permanant ban, because all remember the thread he started before Christmas. He was lucky to get a limited ban then

Uh oh Starman is on the warpath 🙈🙊

Tbh why do people get offended on behalf of riders, IF Richie saw it he could have laughed and rolled his eyes. I doubt he sat at his computer crying about it!!

At least we've gleaned from this thread that some feel it is 'offensive' to use the word boring in the context of speedway riders.

Which confuses me.. as some of the posters most offended have filled this forum up for some time with their ramblings about how 'boring' the sport now is compared to the 'good old days'. By there own definition those very people are insulting all speedway riders.

Agreed. It's far more offensive IMO when people come on here telling us riders are "not trying " can't be bothered " " not interested" etc, etc, when in fact they don't know why a rider is performing badly, whether it be a bike problem, recurrence of an old injury or some other reason.

Was this thread started by the same poster that got so upset and took it very personal when John Cook made his derogartory comment to fans back in Fedruary.

Anyone starting a thread with the personal comment how boring is R Worrall could be said by some is either thick biased or both.

Absolutely nailed it.

The issue wasn't that Jon cook called fans thick based or both. It was that he did so defending a list that showed the bspa had spectacularly failed to grasp the nature of the problem that the hl list was meant to address, particularly when the issues the heat format would create were pointed out by posters such as scb two years ago when it was revealed.I doubt scb would have had an issue if Jon cooks comments were justified, as let's face it some fans ARE thick, biased or both (one in particular springs to mind 😂) Edited by waihekeaces1

And i would not have had an issue with scb if his comments re R Worrall were justified and i felt his comment was offensive.(there is no one on this planet that would not take offence to being called boring).

I used the Cook comment to show how scb was over the top upset with a comment that whatever the reason behind it he found offensive but then had no problem starting a thread that would cause upset to another person.

Back to my offensive point.Silverbee on the speedway updates forum was the original person to use the comment on the Cov v B/vue thread. Now the mods on that forum have since removed that comment as i would think that they found it like me to be an offensive comment. So it would seem that other people agree with my opinion.

So if you then think that its ok for scb to start a thread in big bold letters with the same offensive comment about another human being(and a person that rides for the club you support)that another forum has removed then all i can say about you is that i disagree with your opinion.

Jon Cook wasn't calling the fans thick or biased or both. If you read Gordon Pairmans post on the subject on this forum those comments appear to be aimed at two BSPA members. He wasn't defending a list that showed the BSPA had failed tomgraspmthe nature of the problem he was talking about a list in which it seems a couple of BSPA members appear not to have understood how the decision was arrived at. It's all explained in Gordon Pairmans post and subsequent reports in Speedwáy Star.

Yes. But Gordon pairman's post tbh showed he failed to fully understand the issue either Imo. Regardless of who jon cooks comments were aimed at, the logic used for the list and rules around the list were fundamentally flawed, and to accuse people criticizing the list or process of being thick was hypocritical in the extreme.

Aces51 - have u been as vocal when people accuse Greg Hancock or hampel as being boring? Fwiw I'm not sure I consider any rider boring on track, but see nothing offensive about people saying they do - particularly in this case where it was clearly at least partly tongue in cheek.

What an absolutely pathetic post.

Finding something boring is a subjective opinion. What one person feels is boring another will find exciting. Disagreeing is fine, but being 'offended'.. time to grow up.
