Kl Young Stars V Buxton 25.05.16

Recommended Posts

This looks like a good meeting in the making. The Buxton manager has been very positive in his preview of the meeting and selection. KL are good at home (Birmingham accepted) and will make it difficult for the visitors. Hopefully a fair crowd as unusually KL Stars are racing the next day. There is good competition in the KL side for top points between Tom, Josh, Nathan and Ryan and good team spirit. Looking forward to it.

On paper, this indeed does look a very good meeting. The long friendship between Dale Allitt and Jason Pipe, both fine team-managers, should add an extra bit of spice to proceedings.

One would assume that the crowd level will be low due to the Elite League side being in action the following night, which would be a shame if it is, because both sides contain some exciting talent in their ranks.

Is there anyone going to this meeting who would be able to text updates to the Updates site? If so, could you please send me a private message which includes your mobile number.

Thanks

Interesting line ups now the averages are out but well done to little Josh for getting into the number 1 jacket.

Both sides lower orders seem a little odd to me? Layne clearly needs a confidence boost so getting out of the sticky number 6 jacket would help that surely?

Geary must also be slightly annoyed at getting pushed into the team whilst a debutant gets the reserve ride?

Even so unless things go very much amiss it should be a comfy home win.

It will be interesting with Josh B and Ryan K being paired together at 1+2 . Both have come through the ranks together from Grasstrack and through the MDL with Kings Lynn, great to see home grown talent flourish, who knows maybe in the Stars team together sometime in the future?? Scott at reserve opens many possibilities and will help Layne too.

Thanks. It has rained here near Kirton most of the day. Hope rain stays away !!

It's been raining most of the day in my area too Maureen, but I don't think they've had much in King's Lynn. Wrap up thought, cos it's bloody cold!!

Forget King's Lynn 62 Buxton 27 last night, because there were no losers in this meeting, raced in the most atrocious conditions.

Oliver Greenwood, Lee Geary, Shelby Rutherford, Ryan Blacklock, Jade Mudgway, Lewis Whitmore, Ryan Burton, Josh Bailey, Ryan Kinsley, Shane Hazelden, Tom Stokes, Nathan Greaves, Layne Cupitt and Scott Campos, you should all be extremely proud of yourselves. A great many riders/teams would have refused to have ridden, but every last one of you, faced what was put in front of you, and coped admirably. A pat on the back for team managers Jason Pipe and Dale Allitt too, who played their part, along with referee Mick Bates, for keeping things moving.

You ALL did yourselves and the sport of speedway at National League level proud. THANK YOU.

Perfectly put by Mimmo, horrible out there as the rain was not heavy but fairly constant. Credit to both teams for their efforts. Interesting to see the different styles used to try and cope with the track. All credit to Buxton for hanging in there. All safe.
