Not spending any money on it now new track is on it's way ... or is it?

I have no idea, not privy to that sort of information, but at least the tractor was working this week!

you obviously didn't see him straighten up mid corner then..?

Thou the track was bad it's fair to say Tungate find's it hard to turn corners when the tracks tricky more than others ..he's was like a novice last night just like he was v Wolves .

This result was down to Sedgemen riding at reserve. :nono:

Whoever decided on allowing an established rider (eg Klindt/Sedgemen/ Tungate drop down to reserve needs their bumps felt . It would be a good idea only if teams had 3 draft riders and the two with lowest aves would be reserves ensuring that they still only race against each other..... As it is atm its totally unfair on the draft riders expecting them to compete with riders who've had EL experience and /or are/were PL heatleaders!!

Plus it wasn't like the win was on doubt so should have let him have the 4 rides.

Swindon were 3 points up when Charles was taken out of his last ride so hardly "the win was on doubt" Lisa.

I've said all along that both reserves should always have 4 rides but the promotors chose not to vote that one in.

Rosco was usually guilty of not using the strongest reserve in the last 2 seasons but has obviously seen how Middlo & the rest do it so does same now.

How many times did Kyle replace the other reserve & always have 5 rides when Poole were further ahead than the 3 points Swindon were last night?.

The answer is one heck of a lot.

The rules are wrong but to say that is the only way Swindon won is a bit sour grapes! Sedg beat everybody put in front of him all he can do but Wright would had scored good points from reserve and with replacing Tungate in heat 14 would have had 5 rides and surely score at least 10, add the fact on the form he's in Sedg probably would had scored at least 7 in the top 5 there isnt much difference...maybe the size of deficit may be slightly different but not the result

They'd just banged in an 8-1 to pull it back to 3 points...you werent there so you can hardly claim it wasnt in doubt?! Mystic Meg now are we? :nono:

Lisa is usually a fair poster but Poole & Coventry were the worst at giving a reserve 5 rides & replacing the other reserve with Newman & Garrity so it's not fair this time.

On paper this had the makings of decent meeting; Puk - one of the world's top riders, the return of Batch to the Abbey, Robert Lambert an emerging talent and former Robins favorite Mads. Unfortunately cold and breezy weather, an inconsistent track surface and a paltry crowd put paid to any chance of an entertaining evening's racing.

Credit to Sedgie he got on with the job and returned a fine score but in fairness the riders deserve a better surface than they're getting at the moment.

Come on Ronnie you can do better than this....

People complaining about this meeting being decided by reserves are off the mark.

Edr swindon outscored kl online 9-6.

Sedelgeman scored a six ride max yes, but only two of those were "protected" heats. He rode 3 heats that included 2nd strings, and one heat as a heat leader. So gad he been riding as second string it's likely he would have returned 9 or 10 points, Wright would likely have scored at least 7 as reserve, so we are talking maybe 3 pts difference.

Swindon team riding well, but still think they are a hl short when it comes to the business end of the season.

Asked Rob Lyon. He confirmed No'8s can't be at reserve. If Jakobsen rides then Wilkinson moves into the 1-5.

I agree that no8 can only replace a 1-5 rider but Busk Jakobsen is NOT a 1-5 rider so cannot be replaced by your number 8.

Sorry did Justin's performance offend you or was it just my pleasure at seeing it? (Which has something to do with him being in my Fantasy League team by the way!)

I'm sure you are free and able to get your pleasure however you see fit. A look at comments from some of the other contributors on this thread may well give you a clue to a few of the many things that are currently wrong with British speedway.

Thank you for an educated well thought out post instead of the mindless whiners!

I don't think he had an issue with people moaning about the racing, there were some pretty hard core Robins fans amongst them, do I assume that aspect was as bad as people are saying.

What it does show is how well this heat format worked to keep racing close when edr were protected, and highlight how foolish it was to retain it when edr became free to move into the top 5.

You mean the whiners who are whining about the lack of racing who won't be attending next week's meeting potentially?

Erm no...the tossers whining about the fact we 'only won because we had Sedg at reserve'...please keep up, oh btw i also thought the track was a bit sh*t but instead of just moaning about it on a through a keyboard i will still attend, thanks for your interest.
