Swindon - Kings Lynn 19.5.16

Recommended Posts

I thought it was the same site but not in the same like for like position, but I stand to be corrected if that is not the case.

The new track is to the east of the current track with one of the straights being next to and in line with the dual carriageway and either bend 2 or 4 being very near where bend 1 of the present track is.

If you look at the adver report, next post, bend 1 is in the top left hand corner of the picture and you can see a bit of the road in the bottom left corner, so the new track is to the left of that picture.

Thanks Danny, had not seen that map anywhere, have moved copy to Swindon Stadium Thread.

Re weather for the meeting tonight, just a few drops of rain but weather has been fine, it is now clouding over a bit.

Re A419 roadworks, road or lane closures after 8pm, can only find one just north of Oxford road but no indication if north or south lane.

Just keep an eye out for any signs you see around Latton as road works website is not that clear about roadworks on the A419 going north after the meeting.

Can someone explain how Wilkinson is still in reserve and Huckenbech in the 1-5? Wilkinson has a higher average than big Huckenbech and Jakobsen who he (Kai Huckenbech) is replacing.

Also, if the rules are stuck to and Jakobsen is in reserve, Huckenbech cannot replace him as he can only replace 1-5 riders.

Perfectly OK if there is a Y in the day :P

Seriously do they still have rules in speedway

Great win for the Robins but what a joke that one pair of reserves score 23 + 3 & the other pair score 6.

Time to be ruthless Rosco as Rohan can't cut it in the top 5 so replace him & let Charles & Justin fight it out for a spot in the top 5.

Maybe Kings Lynn should stop playing silly buggers & name Huckenbeck in the team & Jakobsen go to no 8. Edited by Crazy robin

Asked Rob Lyon. He confirmed No'8s can't be at reserve. If Jakobsen rides then Wilkinson moves into the 1-5.

Good result but very poor meeting ...Sedge looked good but Tungate looks poor the moment the track is a big rough or has any dirt on it he can hardly turn the bike around the corner

Rules don't allow it as NBJ has British League experience. Foreign rider's have to be completely new to be No'8s

I agree with Orion - a good result for the Roobins but a poor meeting. What I saw was a few riders riding in the wrong position in the team and being nearly a straight ahead of the other 3 riders - it really shows how unbalanced the teams are under the rules! Midget (Tungate) was poor - one week putting in near maximum points from reserve and the nothing from the heat leader role. The same will happen to Sedge.

I don't think I saw any passing - well none that I can be remember and was a very dull meeting. Niels was good for the visitors and the others chipped in with points but the gap in the scoring of the reserves was very evident and Kai looked off the pace.

This meeting was poor i might be over critical but the track looked s...e to me.Niels looked good, chuffed for Sedgy but the track looked crap not a great nights racing. Also now some of these lower riders some draft riders are getting dropped by big distances between first and fourth strung out like the washing.

I rather think we were waiting for you to explain it to us - oh wise one.

The track looked very poor with (as ex Robin Barry Duke implied on the mike) from patches as bald as Ronnie's head to odd areas of grip.

Huge differential between Jason Doyle and NKI and the rest in quality, very strung out heats.

Still no sign of a new stadium starting and zero news on it, just a bumpier, dirtier car park

Crowd figure? Around 1000 and little atmosphere even with Bratch was introduced.

Not a good night out.

This type of thing makes the sport in this country even more farcical than it already is. A complete joke! :nono:

Sorry did Justin's performance offend you or was it just my pleasure at seeing it? (Which has something to do with him being in my Fantasy League team by the way!)

You are so right no one reacted to Batch really did they ? saying that he rode ok.Niels / Doyley pocket money for them but god this league has problems some races a massive difference in ability. As a example a rider years ago a rider who rode at number 6 away he had the reserve race a heat six and a heat nine if he was lucky.Ok he might score 0 but tonight there was nearly two different races going on a shame really but i will stress again the track looked crap.

As others have said a processional meeting with some strung out races.

Was surprised that KL were not closer but ironically the difference in the score was the difference in the reserves scores, this new system is not working.

It was very pleasing seeing Justin getting 17 points but whoever Swindon has in the tier 1 reserve position they will usually score well, sometimes at the expense of a heat leader and sometimes not.

Tonight also saw an improvement from Stefan in the way he fought for his place in his races and his overall score.

Jason and Nick rode well as did NKI and Mads for Kings Lynn.

I hope that Rohan and Robert are ok after there crashes.

Neither, certain "know alls" who have mates that know what is happening keep saying it has started or is just about to start are talking cr#p.

The only thing that appears to have happened is that the contractors have cut down some scrub and trees, this was done before the nesting season, and a massive heap of dirt has been moved from other parts of the housing site and dumped in one corner of the car park.

That's certainly one big pile of dirt,Blunsdon Blag was impressed, signs of progress etc.......
