Trees
Plates as in more than one, all 3 of his bikes were tried all had the same issue. Think its pretty much the same as last year as in mechanics and engine tuner. He changed his crew at the start of last year after some issues. He couldn't. He was told he had to ride one of the semis or have no chance of riding for the British title. Friday was the only option as he would have struggled to get to Glasgow on Sunday in time hence his interview in the speedway star. He should've been allowed a wildcard .....
waiheke1
If king was given a wildcard, then surely bomber should have been elegible for one. Tai and Bomber should both have been seeded through to the British final. But if harris was told he had to ride, that's another example of failing to support Britain's own riders.
ColinMills
kind of feel for bomber a bit here, hes qualified for the GP serious, no hand -out, he currently low in the table. theres still 9 rounds left, give the bloke a break. people slagged eddie the eagle off, but who could of done that as well? if harris career ended today, its far from a failure. domestically, cleaned up and won the british GP....HARDLY A FAILURE!
OveFundinFan
Colin, I would go along with you except the position he is in now, just after 2 rounds, is basically where he has been last couple of years. During those couple years he not really showed a flicker of improving, he may have got to a semi - cant really remember so it wasnt that electrifying if he had. As for "if harris ended today" - yes, would agree with you, he done very well and there is not many UK riders won a GP, so hats off to him for that......... but he is at the end of his international career, well even dare to say... past the end of it. Hes done well, and sometimes its best to leave the room while reputation still intact. Only my views.

I don't see why Chris should have to become the first just to please supporters on a forum. He's there by right and has no obligation to others for whatever level of success he achieves apart from his support team, sponsors and fans. OveFundinFan
We all would agree he is there by right, and would acknowledge he is unlikely to pull out, doesnt mean to say we cannot express what we thinking. It was sad to see Ales Drymal in his last year, 2013 was it. A good international rider over his career, but it wasnt nice to see him struggling towards the back of the field time after time. Unless things change dramatically this will be Chris last year in the GP's, my opinion is he should have left couple years ago with his reputation fully intact. ColinMills
it IS fully intact. if he drops out, does the next rider in 15th place start getting knocked?

Unless things change dramatically this will be Chris last year in the GP's, my opinion is he should have left couple years ago with his reputation fully intact. Harris has never truly been world class. He's a good international quality rider, who has never been likely to challenge for top 3 over a season. If he can average 5 pts a go that is a good effort, as it means he beats a world class rider (I would argue all the others in this year's field are world class or close to it) one in three times, which is a solid ratio. Therefore I don't see how finishing bottom in anyway undermines his reputation. If anything it confirms what has been the case throughout his career, his gating and equipment are not good enough at world champ level and he is a little too "nice" on the track. So why not just enjoy whatever success he does manage to achieve - I think most expected him to finish 15th this year, so to me the odd semi final would be a bonus. tyler42
It would be ridiculous for a sportsman to give up their place in a world championship just because they started the season badly! Let's face it, looking at this season's field Harris was online ever likely to finish 14th-16th. But there is no disgrace in being 15th in the world at something! But if he does finish 15th. It certainly does not make him the 15th best rider in the world! No disrespect to bomber, but he can't even get a ride in Poland's 2nd League. I think you yourself do stats on all the riders. Where does bomber come there. not top 15 I would guess.
waiheke1
He will be officially 15th in the world. I agree that doesn't make him 15th best rider in the world. From memory last year he placed top 40 on my rankings, which I think is about right. Still no disgrace in that.

Thanks Tim - I plan on going to Outrup on Friday and to Holstebro on Sunday but am also interested in the Esbjerg meetings, particularly those which I believe are on Saturday before I head off to Horsens. Just looking for confirmation of exactly what is being staged at Esbjerg and when.

See here: http://loebskalender.dmusport.dk/index.php?sport=4&formYear=2016 Many thanks Arnie - I have been tracking this calendar, which is usually quite reliable but it is at odds with the FIM one (which is not so reliable) and there is no reference to these meetings on the Esbjerg website. I have also e mailed the club and hopefully will get confirmation of the meetings.
arnieg
My experience is you do need to keep an eye on start times, but dates can generally be relied on. Last year I did Holsted in the morning and then onto Horsens and it worked fine.
