mdmc82
Adam Ellis is lower on the EDR list! Where is the updated list though? Doesn't it just go by their averages once they get one which is why Newman could have guests above him

Shale Searcher
Rain in the forecast for Friday, call it off now so the fans can make early arrangements to do something else with their leisure ££'s Will save travel arrangements for riders and fans, the fans can then book tickets for Other activities, like cinema, pubs, theatre, and not have to worry if the speedway is going to be on or not... An early call off will be better for everyone.. After all, speedway has become an inconvenience for its fans in the UK. TesarRacing
I can understand why the question was asked, as a guest for a missing EDR rider can now be either another rider from the EDR list (below the rider being replaced) or a rider with a lesser PL average not in an EL 1-5. If the latter is used the guest must be a British rider. We are utilising the former on Friday and the latter on Saturday. Adam Ellis is lower on the EDR list! Where is the updated list though? Why does it need to be this complicated?!

mdmc82
What year is that in? Sorry, it's actually 31st March 😉 So I assume the list changes by new averages so this month it would look like this: Kyle Newman. 7.24 Adam Ellis 7.07 Kyle Howarth. 5.93 Josh Auty. 5.58 Charles Wright. 5.25 Paul Starke. 5.14 Steve Worrall. 4.85 Lewis Kerr. 4.41 Carl Wilkinson. 4.32 Josh bates. 4.11* James Sarjeant. 3.54* Robert Mear. 3.52 Steve Boxell. 3.00 Simon Lambert. 3.00 Stefen Nielsen 3.00 Ashley Morris. 3.00 Adam Roynon. 3.00 Lewis Rose. 3.00 Max Clegg. 3.00 Robert Branford. 3.00 Joe Jacobs 3.00 All the averages have been whilst riding in the reserve berth other than 5 riders Wright has been in main team for 4 meetings without dropping back to reserve which is impressive. Auty and Starke have both had 2 meetings at reserve due to Kilndt having a low assessed average. Ellis spent 2 meetings but now returns to reserve. Howarth has had 2 meetings in top 5 and remains there. Adam Ellis is lower on the EDR list! Not anymore. I imagine Roynon will be our guest for tomorrow but not Sat as he's riding for PL then Edited May 19, 2016 by mdmc82
mdmc82
Thursday May 19, 2016 COVENTRY return to Elite League action on Friday with a visit from Lakeside led by former favourite Andreas Jonsson (7.30pm). Jonsson remains hugely popular at Brandon from his time with the Bees between 1998 and 2004, and the Swedish star has returned to British Speedway with the Hammers over the last couple of seasons. But the Buildbase Bees will hope he does not score too heavily in the first of two meetings in two nights between the clubs, with Coventry set to make the trip to Purfleet for the return fixture on Saturday. Bees currently lie six points behind the third-placed Hammers in the league table, albeit with one match in hand, so this weekends fixtures could well be significant in the chase for top-four positions. The visitors already have one big away win on the board this season from their early-April trip to Leicester, but have failed to take points away from visits to Kings Lynn, Wolverhampton, Poole and Swindon. Bees are forced into one change for both fixtures, with Josh Bates unavailable due to his participation in the World Under-21 semi-final in Pocking, Germany on Saturday. With regulations dictating that Bates must be replaced by either a rider from below him in the Elite Draft list, or any Premier League British rider with a lower average, squad rider Adam Roynon steps in on Friday night whilst on Saturday, experienced former Lakeside man Leigh Lanham will guest for Bates. The Hammers have been well-served this season by Richard Lawson, whose scoring has almost matched Jonsson so far, and he continues to keep ex-Bees rider Edward Kennett out of the Lakeside line-up and Polish rider Piotr Swiderski has also made a successful return to Purfleet in 2016. With a dramatic win over Wolverhampton in their last home outing, the Bees are looking to pick up some momentum after an inconsistent start to the season, with much speculation continuing as to what may happen in 2017 and beyond due to the current stadium issues. Promoter Mick Horton said: I was far more encouraged with the win over Wolves, and now we have to keep things going. Its always good to see AJ (Jonsson) back at Coventry and Im sure hell get a warm welcome but hopefully the likes of KK (Krzysztof Kasprzak) and Bomber (Chris Harris) will be able to handle him! I have been involved in a number of meetings lately and we are all working hard to try to secure the clubs future, and the message for supporters is to please remain behind us. We need to make it absolutely clear that there is a long-term need for this sport to continue, which Im committed to make happen if at all possible as John Clarke would say, please keep the faith! BUILDBASE BEES (from): Jason Garrity, Chris Harris, Krzysztof Kasprzak, Danny King, Adam Roynon, James Sarjeant, Kacper Woryna. LAKESIDE (from): Lewis Bridger, Andreas Jonsson, Lewis Kerr, Richard Lawson, Robert Mear, Kim Nilsson, Piotr Swiderski.
SCB
I can only assume that a new rules was written when Adam Ellis got injured that says EDR riders can only ever be replaced by EDR riders, guests and R/R are not an option, despite what the rulebook says. Makes sense tbf.

Daytripper
From the Lakeside website :- Jon Cook moved swiftly to allay the fears of Lakeside's fans after the announcement that Lakeside track specialist, 93 year old Leigh Lanham will line up for Coventry on Saturday. Cook told the fans " I know Leigh has been around for a long time and must almost know his way round the inside line by now but the EDR scheme is designed to help up and coming riders like him progress through the ranks so he has to be given a chance, but I have had a word with him and told him to remember which side his bread is buttered if he he wants his usual invitation to the "Legends" table at this years dinner and dance. Anyway there won't be an interpreter in the pits so he won't have a clue what Gary Havelock is talking about and we'll put him in the pit next to AJ and he'll think he's back with the Hammers."
