remembertheracers
Matt Ford in his local paper -- “I take everything into consideration and realise crowds are often lower when events are televised, but Monday was our second-lowest attendance in 17 years,” he said. Swindon v King's Lynn last week, looked like less than 1,000 at Blunsdon. Now a bad forecast on BBC from 1pm Monday. Speedway is in deep trouble.

Ford doesn't blame Speedway, he blames the poor crowd on Poole's recent performances and the fact it was live on Sky.
Starman2006
Ford doesn't blame Speedway, he blames the poor crowd on Poole's recent performance and the fact it was live on Sky. Which is true. You show me a club anywhere outside the play off's where it benifits crowd wise when the sky cameras are present.
LisaColette
Well they will have to go back to reduced admission then.
scottyfan
Take nothing for granted. Poole were beaten at home so will be licking their wounds from that and usually go well around Blunsdon so they are well capable of getting their first away win of the season. Also bear in mind that the fortnightly team shuffle which sees Swindon's two starting second strings as heat leaders - having both been down at reserve and on false averages as a result! I think this will be close and I would like to see a Swindon win to maintain their unbeaten run and stay at the top of the EL. Up the Roobins!! Have you seen Holder 'ride' in the UK this year?? As Swindon isn't a Polish track, he might trundle round and score 3 points....if he can be arsed!!!!
SteveLyric2
yep I didn't read the whole article just the last bit!!! What's your problem pal??? He quite clearly says about the rules!!! Or have you not read it?? Typical response from yourself The last paragraph mate in case your blind."I don't want to hear anymore about rules" black and white mate I am neither your pal nor your mate, nor am I blind - although I do suffer with the occasional sight issue so thanks for your concern!!!! Your earlier post took issue with MF's responsibility for the track. My assumption (correct as was obvious) that you hadn't read the full articles was because MF stated clearly that 'he was working to provide the best surface possible' . Your other comment about rules was also taken out of context (surprise surprise) as he stated 'he didn't want to hear any more about rules, tracks or anything else'!! Doubtless we shall continue to suffer your inane jibes about your least favourite club even though 'you have nothing against Poole or any of its riders'!! Who benefits from it ?

Starman2006
Totally agree , what is the point of Sky being connected with Speedway ? Who benefits from it ? The clubs do benifit financially from Sky otherwise it would be a pointless exercise. Speedway doesn't get the National media coverage that Football gets, and never will. Although they could put themselves out a bit. Edited May 28, 2016 by Starman2006

keef robin
Gates open early...live band, kids stuff, forecast good, should be a decent crowd up on The Hill tomorrow, may hit 2000. Swindon favs to win, but the Knobs need to get something out of this after their poor recent run. Should be a cracker.
