theblueboy
Poole fully deserved the win. Kurtz the match winner and James Sergeant also rode well at 5 for Poole. Poole had more tenacity, which was summed up perfectly in heat 14. Morris aggressive and rode Buck to the fence. Tungate on a ultra slick track where passing was at a premium and had a 30 yard head start spends the next 2 laps riding ultra conservatively and looking forward over his shoulder. Needless to say Buck didn't turn the offer down. Tungate isn't good enough at this level. He excelled in the reserve berth but he was not brought in to the team to ride at reserve. By the end of this week we will be halfway through the season. I think Tungate has not shown enough to warrant being kept in for the remainder of the season. If riders have volunteered their services to Rosco and given RT's current inflated average, now is the time to make that change. Chas was poor yesterday but not his type of track and not down to effort either. Had he brought his trapping boots the result may have been different but he was up against 2 quality reserves yesterday and it showed. Losing at home, again, makes it imperative that less than 3 points at Leicester could be the difference between a play off spot and missing out. theblueboy
Did Rosco say yesterday that riders have offered there services? I believe that to be the case too. I have nothing against RT but I believe there are riders that will improve that line up and give us a chance at winning the title. Polar is the most obvious - and no he is not anywhere being close to being a favourite rider of mine - but if you are given the choice between a former GP rider and number one to a 3rd heat leader in PL it has to be a no brainer The league is very open and this is a decision, I believe, which needs to be made before his average falls again. Maybe we should not be so hasty? we were a wee bit unlucky yesterday as a example is Pedersen that much better than Watt it has to be a odvious choice for me to make a change.
Gresham
Question...is the track normally that slick and dry this season at Swindon? It must be so frustrating as a rider, to miss the gate, and know you have very little chance of catching up and overtaking, unless the rider in front makes a mistake. You could see on a few occasions, riders trying to make moves, but once of the quickest line, they often lost ground. There was a little extra right out near the safety fence, for those that really dared...but nothing to speak of. Which begs the question...who has say in the tracks these days? Having only watched at Swindon and Somerset this season, I'm seeing less and less dirt, slicker drier tracks, and very little opportunity to pass. Is it something the riders want...or the promotors...cost etc? Any thoughts? Funnily...I got talking to one of the young Aussie entourage yesterday. He commentated...Quote...'Once you get past the idea of these bikes having no brakes, these bikes are relatively easy to ride these days, especially on slick tracks.' He said he didn't ride anymore...as he found it repetitively boring and went back to Moto X. I found that quite astonishing tbh.

It's not about being hasty Sid, it's about getting the right rider in at the right time. We did so last year and look how our season took off. You know that when push comes to shove, RT will be found wanting, particularly at Blunsdon. Generally, I am not one for change but I wasn't over the moon when RT was announced. He has been given a fair run and nothing I have seen has changed my opinion. I don't know what riders are available or who has offered those services but if Rosco doesn't make that change we could regret it.
Woz01
Still 10x better than Cov! You troll on Twitter as well as here, be interesting to see whether you actually go to a meeting rather than hide behind a pic. I assure you she does go to Brandon. There is a brief comment about the issue of water supply pressure in the Blunsdon Blog Mad dogs and Englishmen on the Swindon Speedway website, and I think I recall comments before about the water pressure issue at the stadium. Since they have been building the houses, recently the water pressure in the area of the track is sometimes down and the speed at which the water tanker etc can be filled is slow, so there does seem to be a water supply problem. They do have water tanks at the stadium but once they have been emptied, again there would be a supply speed issue. I am not sure if this is a local issue that can be resolved easily or if it is a result of the building of thousands of houses in Swindon without increasing the water supply to the town. There may be a blog being prepared about the meeting which may give more details about the track. Woz01
On this occasion yes...but at £4.40 a pint, its hardly going to attract any new fans who would like to come along with friends is it? £1.10 more than what it is at Somerset. Like you say though...you don't have to buy it. £3 at Brandon!
Steve Shovlar
They didnt use up the water in the tank on the back of the pickup. Perhaps the Swindon promotion thought the team stood a better chance on a bald blue groove dust bowl.

Gresham
They didnt use up the water in the tank on the back of the pickup. Perhaps the Swindon promotion thought the team stood a better chance on a bald blue groove dust bowl. They interviewed Josh, and he said the riders were finding the track difficult because of how dry and slick it was. Funnily, since asking my question earlier about the track, I noticed an interview with Josh in the programme, where he states how much he likes the track, how he's had to come from behind a lot, and that there are plenty of lines on it. He states...'It's nice to know I can go in the dirt as I like to and there will be some options there...but sometimes it works better than others, because it depends on how the tracks been prepared'. Which suggests, there has been more dirt in previous meetings? Also...it's down to what the promotors prepare and not what the riders ask for? Last year Darcy really changed things for us morale and everything also seeing a superstar everyweek was like going back to the Leigh Adams days again. At the start of this year i was not confident with this side overall apart from Leicester away it has punched well above its weight. If we made a change would it be a odvious name if we could fit in Bjerre,(ect)?.Tungate has done ok away, he has struggled at the Abbey but i would not panic just yet.Rosco said something yesterday he said not all 7 riders had clicked at the same time.Sedgy,Rohan,Steff,Charles have all had blips this year would one change necessarily change our season? not sure if there was Musielak interests me.
