SteveLyric2
Poole do look good on paper. Paper is generally smooth with no bumps but can be a bit wavy. A close one today I think. Will depend a lot on how much watering is done and how late before the 4pm start!!! ;-) Poole to get at least a point after Matt's rollicking. Gresham
Looking forward to this....taking someone who has never been to Speedway before. Are there any roadworks locally to be worried about?

It seems the road works on the A419 have been cancelled over the bank holiday.
Steve Shovlar
Well I think I will get there early to get a parking space for a quick exit. If this meeting doesn't pull in a large crowd at the Abbey nothing will. Swindon showing great form against a team struggling to live up to pre season expectations. Its got the making of a classic. Lets hope its not a boring from the gate meeting. Can Swindon prove their form is real and win this, or can Poole finally wake up from their slumber and show the league they mean business by coming away with the points? Having been to all Poole's away meetings I am not holding out much hope of a win. If we can get a point it will show there is some fighting spirit. Not usually a good hunting ground for us and Holder rarely does much here to be honest. But the team is decent enough to get something. I said 49-41 earlier and am sticking to that. Anything else closer is a bonus.

A ORLOV
Weather still overcast but dry, but the wind is getting up a little bit so it is worth bringing a light jacket.
DunRobin
Still very suspicious about Holder's form. With the stupid rules this season, he could easily carry on scoring like this with Poole remaining in in a play-off place, then his form dips just a little prior to the play-offs & he drops to reserve. Hey-ho, he can now have 7 rides in all 3 p-off meetings, just the way to win the league. Can't understand Ford allowing him to get away with under performing for any other reason. Yes, he's made noises in the press but he hasn't taken any action other than the easy dumping off Watt.
Grachan
If we have Rohan and Justin as heatleaders then we could be in trouble. No point having Nick and Josh scoring big against reserves when the other two are capable of dong the same. I think this weakens Swindon a lot, and shouldn't be happening. Poole to win then, unfortunately. Well I think I will get there early to get a parking space for a quick exit. If this meeting doesn't pull in a large crowd at the Abbey nothing will. Just hope Morris is out on his 2nd bike from the start.

As DunRobin says a clever club will try to work it that they have a good rider ready to become a reserve for the play offs, but not sure if this is the cause of C Holders form as it is too early in the season to work the reserve averages. Gemini
Weather still overcast but dry, but the wind is getting up a little bit so it is worth bringing a light jacket. Light jacket? After being to Swindon several times I'd suggest something a bit heavier with plenty of padding to keep the cold out. Steve Shovlar.......Well I think I will get there early to get a parking space for a quick exit. That seems to be your usual plan.

Just hope Morris is out on his 2nd bike from the start. It makes a big difference. In theory Tungate and Sedgman could beat the riders Grajczonek and Morris are against. We gain little from that. But Tungate and Sedgeman will struggle against heatleaders. So we lose out there. So it weakens us. Holder would be wasted at reserve. I don't see how they would gain from it. You want a reserve that can win the protected heats, but there is no point having someone who can win heatleader races down there.

You don't see the point of having a rider capable of scoring 21 points in each of 3 meetings! you are only looking at 25 points from the remaining 6 riders to ensure a win.
hagonshocker
No point in worrying about who is up against who in any given heat just drop the clutch ride your boll*x off and ride your best , too much over thinking going on in this thread, relax people!

It's not as big an effect as you might think. If he scores 21 then 3 of those rides would, presumably, be against heatleaders. So he would gave scored 9 of those anyway. Look at the points Tungate scored at reserve. There's no point having someone like Holder there when there are other riders who can get big points against reserves, leaving Holder to beat the heatleaders. If he is on 21 max form, you are basically losing 2 of his heatleader rides if he is beating the likes of Nielsen at reserve.

BluPanther
Big meeting for the Pirates as they try to get back to winning ways, however i can only see a home win unless the Poole reserves can bang in some big points. 48-
