Berwick Versus Sheffield: 14th May, 7pm

Recommended Posts

Nothing sucks the atmosphere out of, or empties a stadium quicker than a couple of home defeats and poor performances, lets hope whatever the problems are within the team are addressed now we have a couple of weeks to do so. I am sure our promotion and consortium will meet, if they haven't already, to do just that.

On last night Doolan, Pyjper and Ayres were decent and did all they could to at least keep the scoreline respectable, the others inconsistent and poor, and need to use this time off to sort things out, or maybe the club will sort things out for them. As others have mentioned you`ll struggle to carry any rider but when that rider is the No1 its doubly difficult.

Take nothing away from Sheffield who were excellent, inparticular I thought Josh Bates caught the eye, far more in control and looked very classy.

With regard to carrying a No1, is would be utter lunacy to even think about replacing Thomas.

Coming back from a shoulder injury then a wrist (or hand?) break, he hasn't had a chance to build his form up.

A few more meetings and he'll be back up to speed.

Nobody was happier with TJ last year than myself him and Kevin carried the team for long spells but he is a gater who unfortunately has lost his touch this year and because of this confidence is in free fall. Seb could be that number 1 we desperately need but is woefully inconsistent and needs to find that somewhere. If Liam has a broken wrist then that is a number of weeks on the sidelines, Henning Bager is just a complete mystery where that came from so we are at a crossroads either have to make a few changes or accept that we have what we have and watch the crowds fall away as we take up our rightful position near the bottom of the league.

I Thomas will get back to last season's form after a couple more meetings, and a bit more luck on his side.

even on last seasons form you need more really surely?

Is there a bigger enigma in speedway ( barring Ludvig Lindgren) then Seb Alden?? Flying last week to crawling this week by all accounts.

Thomas will get his confidence back and will click, I'd rather have him in my team when that happens.

Couldn't agree more.

With regards to Seb though he always has been and always will be an inconsistent performer and go from brilliant to average to poor in the space of three rides and we knew this coming in to the season.

Think its time that Berwick fans realise this team is nowhere near good enough.

Jorgensen was decent last season but certainly isnt a number one, the pressure of being expected to be a number one along with his injuries is doing him no good.

Doolans a solid middle order man, probably still a decent third heatleader. Same with Pijper.

Aldens hit and miss, one week great next week rubbish.

That, IMO, is four third heatleaders.

Bager is garbage, even in his prime was only a 6.5 ish PL rider. Way past that prime now. Be lucky to get 4.

Wethers is a decent reserve, Carr doing all that can be expected of him.

Obviously if Mellgren had started fully fit then the team would be a bit strong, hes had horrendous injuries and clearly is some way from fitness. But theres no number one in that side, theres not even a consistent second heatleader.

A few changes are needed, as this team will continue to lose home matches all season.

Some riders not happy at others not pulling there weight

One rider is not happy, there were only 2 riders in the B&G. (not counting LIAM who wasnt riding)

He has a point to be annoyed though, luckily only 1 meeting before averages change, at that point I 'HOPE' to see an improvement.

They should all be pulling their weight as their all ex Bandits who know their way round Shielfield as we were told at the start of the season just forgotten the fastest way round ;););)
