King’s Lynn V Birmingham Wed 11 May

The thing with the KL team is their strength is at second string and reserve, but they came up against a team with the best second strings and reserves in the league!

The PL has really helped Bailey to kick on this year and Kinsley is very good around Lynn. I wouldnt criticise Stokes either. But I agree with the comment on Greaves, and I wonder whether being removed from the pressure of the PL would be a help for him. Campos is there because he's a good leader for team on a personal lever and it's not like the team is full of oldies tbf! Cupitt, is a strange one. He clearly has talent and got some expert advice over the winter and I keep thinking he'll kick on but I'm still waiting. Nevertheless time is on his side.

Does he? Never seen anything from him to suggest he does. Seems a case of who you know not what you know as far as Cupitt is concerned.

It's an interesting one. Lets remember we have seen this team demolish Stoke and then beat Mildenhall well at home already. First home loss is to a team that were in brilliant form and their manager said it left him speechless. They were at their best. Josh and Ryan were excellent, Josh having to change bikes after bending one in his first race. Ryan overcoming mechanical pixies. Shane showed his real talent when off 15m, watching that race he really fought hard, the pace is there. Tom has obvious talent and PL will be to his advantage, Nathan had a bad day at the office but he has ability and will come on, Scott needs to be judged by his role as not just rider, he is the perfect captain for these young lads...watching his positive work with his team only enhances how these young guys race, Layne needs to find some speed and that will bring confidence. The track was difficult for all as could be seen early on. Birmingham took to it well. These guys are the future of British speedway, 2 wins at home and 1 loss to the team who will most probably win the league. Dale manages them so well...its a learning curve for many and will be interesting to follow their individual progresses.

He's nowhere near the talent potential of his suster's bro but you don't hit scores like 10+1 if there's no talent there at all. I can see him developing into a good standard NL rider, given time. He still very young remember.

Birmingham may well reach the play-off's but that's as far as it will go for them. Over 2 legs home and away I think that both Kent & Eastbourne would beat the Brummies so a runners-up medal is the best that they can achieve.
