blueherb777
Again I thought I would start a thread. Was planning to go but with the forecast and the fact it is raining now where I am I am giving it a miss. Also I see Armstrong is out and with Fen Tigers reserves looking to be novices, looking a walk over for Kings if it gets go ahead. Hope safe meeting for all. Wiseguy
For anyone who did attend, how was the crowd compared to last week? Like you AJ, I gave it a miss when the rain started coming down, once bitten twice shy with the Kings on that front first meeting I have missed this year but was just asking because not sure if people give it a miss when it clashes with speedway on the box or if that has no bearing at all another easy meeting for the Kings, its going to take a really good side to beat Kent on their home track this year, in fact, to beat them anywhere
blueherb777
I gave the meeting a miss because of the weather. I am so glad I did not go. You need TWO teams to make a meeting - not half a team like Mildenhall. With 7 riders they would have found it hard, but with 5 it was impossible. And as it turned out they were a TWO man team. It was obvious if the meeting got to 15 heats Kings would hit 60 odd points. At least Brum in the Final will be a lot more competitive. Sings4Speedway
I took the gamble and went as did a fair sized crowd. There appeared to be more dirt on the track than usual and the Kent heat leaders relished that and set after the track record although it was not to be. Sadly 5 man Mildenhall did not offer much resistance and it wasn't until heat 10 that there was an away winner with the Kings claiming the chequered flag the other 14 times. Clifton, Mason & Verge were all very solid whilst Thomas, Shanes, Bowen & Ayres were excellent. The latter clearly jubilant at finally recording his first full max he ran into the Central Park crowd to celebrate with his dad & sponsors. It would have been a tough ask for a full strength Mildenhall side but with Armstrong absent, Bowtell over enthusiastic and Coles under powered it was clear cut from early on. With the reserves booked on the day (despite knowing a requirement since Wednesday) O'Keefe whilst one for the future is clearly not ready for NL yet & King failing to arrive it was a tough day for the Fen Tigers however they will have better to come.
cityrebel
The crowd was decent considering the awful weather forecast. There was a fair bit of dirt down for a change, can some be sent over to rye house in time for Saturday's meeting!
waco
Kent look to have the strongest team in the league at present ..Good chance of some team silver ware this season ..I am at Rye with Ben Morley and we only have a 4 man team at present with the same problems Kent had in the past 3 seasons..Still wish all at Kent a successfull year

Rye house as you say, Eastbourne although that's getting sorted, cradley, IOW Stoke to a point also. Birmingham Kent are my top 2 and Eastbourne to be in the mix by the seasons end
Sings4Speedway
It is very much a split this year with teams either strength in depth like Kings Lynn or strong 4 and 3 x 3 pointers. Its always a gamble as Kent & Birmingham both lined up similar ways last year however one finished top and the other bottom largely because one reserve had a sensational year. If teams set up with 3 x 3 pointers they are relying on at least one to kick on. The only difference this year is that they opted for smooth and steady allowing the speed to come where as others like Rye & Eastie have gone for fast but wobbly....... Clifton has been a very good signing for them as had Thomas and Verge has clicked in to gear this season when few expected him to do so. That said if the bottom three had struggled then they would have struggled again.
Brummiestormer
I for one won't mind one jot if Kent win the NL as long as it's not Eastbourne or Cradley i'm ok lol
