Belle Vue V Swindon 11 May, 2016.

Recommended Posts

No sign of anything yet at the stadium site or that I can find on the Council planning lists.

I hope there is some positive news soon. Presumably, the new financial backers must feel confident that the stadium will become a reality otherwise, I can't see why they would have got involved.

Swindon are in an even more difficult position than we were. At least we could deal direct with the Council who were building the stadium solely for our use whereas you're dependent on private enterprise building what is primarily a Greyhound Stadium as part of a deal to build housing. I hope the Council and local MP will make sure it happens. I think it will.

Just seen the weather for Wednesday, it does look as thought the Aces have run over an awful lot of black cats

Not sure where you looked, but I just checked 3 sites. BBC & Met Office had no rain at all and the Accuweather said "a couple of showers".

I've seen worse forecasts.

Of course, but I was thinking in terms of maybe Belle Vue could of needed the days just gone to give the paying public some confidence for 3-4 meetings after all the previous. Any threat of weather interference could affect the attendances hugely

From Belle Vue website:

It’s unfortunate that we’ll be without Max for this meeting but the Rider Replacement facility will allow us to use the likes of Scott, Richie, Steve and Joe to cover his four programmed rides.

SCB said it is Cook, Ritchie and Steve + Jacobs to take R/R rides. Who is wrong?

Belle Vue.

The Aces are very vulnerable at home for the first couple of months so it a tricky one to call. Having said that if they miss the gate they have the opportunity to pass and man for man they should have the beating of the robins even on a neutral venue.

Whatever the outcome it's just great to finally see The Aces take to the track at the NSS and there are plenty of entertainers on both sides to provide a spectacular evening.

Latest EL Issue9 is dated May 4th (probably not including evening match from the very same day where Nicholls scored 3 from 5 and Cook 2+1 from 3).

Nicholls on 6.96 before that match and Cook on 6.92. All very tight. Would be nice to see updated averages!

What is the weather like up there, if you have had the rain that we have had in Wiltshire overnight it would not be on.

Luckily we ain't in Wiltshire. Been dry all morning. Weather is set fair for today so all systems go

Why no Jason as that hasn't been mentioned anywhere before today?.

Jason suffered crashes in Poland and Sweden this week and is struggling to move because of bruising, there is a report on Swindon Speedway Website
