Notenoughnerve
The real problem is there not being enough fixtures in the Elite League to make it pay for riders. How did we ever end up with just 14 home meetings in a season?
waiheke1
the issue isn't neccesarily the number of fixtures. Sweden and Poland manage fine on less. The issue is the income those fixtures generate, which in turn impacts on what can be paid to the riders. I'd still rather see the EL go to fixed race night, 8 or 10 teams racing each other once plus play offs. And teams potentially running also a PL side minus the "stars". Aces51
I've said it before, I can't see it working if EL clubs run one team with the top riders with a few meetings and then a PL level team. However it is sold fans will regard the PL side as their second team and fans never turn out in anything like the same numbers to see what they will regard as second best. Another difficulty will be that those clubs with only a PL team will still want to run the number of fixtures they now do. How are the EL clubs going to run all those PL meetings plus 7,8 or 9 EL meetings. Edited May 8, 2016 by Aces51

Wolfsbane
I know it's a bit tongue in cheek but I wonder what would happen if Woffinden announced he was going back to Scunthorpe. Would the BSPA turn that one down as well 'in the interests of British Speedway'.
orion
Not sure what that has to do with what is happening with cook ..cook is not allowed to join boro because his el would have the same race night as his pl team .
IronScorpion
I would think that the BSPA would turn it down "in the interests of British Speedway" as in the rules, no EL rider with a MA over 6 can ride in the PL. Also, Godfrey came on here to explain on behalf of the BSPA same as on the ill fated opening night of the NSS, Bomber came out to express the views of some of the riders. I understand your top line, but surely that would also apply to some other EL/PL riders. The highlighted bit confuses me as I don't see what that has to do with Craig or any other EL/PL rider

No problem with that, just wondering tongue in cheek whether they'd have the gonads to refuse to have a dual British World Champion riding in the UK 'in the interests of British speedway'. Extracting the urine out the 'It's in the best interests of British speedway' spiel possibly? Edited May 8, 2016 by Wolfsbane
heathen chemistry
i think all brits should be allowed to double down , but for the top brits the elite should come first if the PL had squads they could chop n change according to availability of riders

speedwaysliders
The main stumbleing block seem to be Peterboroughs race night being the same as Belle vue,but is there anything in the rule book to say Peterborough have 2 race nights and they could say that their other race night being taken into account? Also could it work against Peterborough saying that they cant sign another rider they are interested in because he cant double up on their other race night?!!!! To me it seems the rule isnt watertight like most of the rules in speedway!!!!!!

baba
The poles must be worried about Cook's progression(heading for GP's) and when there will be another polish world champ.
Lukas
The BSPA are a corrupt bunch of clowns that are worse than FIFA..they have ruined the sport in this country with ridiculous decisions like this..and then wonder why the crowds are so crap. And as for certain people suggesting premier league is easy money look at Kyle Newman's average in both leagues..this suggests its actualy the other way round.

If it was guests they were worried about they wouldn't have approved Pedersen's move to Poole.
