Berwick Bandits Vs Newcastle Diamonds Pl 7.5.16 7.00pm

Recommended Posts

Think you will need more than a match winning performance from Henning Bager to save you from defeat.

Tbf they are both downgrades imo from Lambert and Kus around Shielfield, Lambert has never been beaten i a race that he's finished around the place and Kus has had many of maximums inc paid 21, Barker will be good for around 10-12, Lambert got a paid max last month where as I'm not sure of R Worrall's fitness, looked to be struggling on Sky (this is me hoping and wishing, please don't give me hate hahaha)

Newcastle Guests announced as Ben Barker

And Richie Worral

I'm please with those two guests, looking forward to this one. :D Don't get me wrong would rather have had Lambert and Kus but these two will do nicely, hope we can sneak a win. :t:

Bring on the win and then the Fish and Chips. :approve:

Hoping the forecasted Fog does not ruin the meeting!!

I use Met Office and postcode for Shielfield Park

I just used BBC and put in Berwick. As long as it said it wasn't going to pi$$ it down was not that bothered. Should be a good one hopefully.

Couldn't there be like a squad system in place where the PL teams OR EL teams have 2 or 3 riders in a squad (Maybe up and coming British riders) and if they need to replace anyone in their team,. they use their squad, I kniow there's so many problems with this, money and stuff, but it could work really well if there was a way rather than seeing incomplete meetings of 11, 12 or 13 riders :( I'd rather see 14 riders in each meeting than be stuck in situations where teams cannot field a whole team

Just as an example instead of us using R/R for Aarnio earlier on, we could have had a squad rider to come in to replace him, and we could have had them change about to give young Brits more of a chance, a little like guests, but assigned guests to each team, I suppose, if this even makes any sense at all

Or another example if Lakeside needed a rider, they could go into their squad and use Lawson or this Dennis Jonsson dude, couldn't more teams do this?

It would be nice if the BSPA and promoters would work together and arrange fixtures that would ensure teams are at full strength and avoid obvious clashes like this and Scunthopre on Bank Holiday Monday. If I was a promoter at Newcastle I wouldn't be accepting a fixture knowing there is a fair chance two of my riders would be unavailable

Hardly Berwick's fault if opposition accept a fixture and then arrive short-handed. Although they won't be short-handed if they are allowed two bloody guests. Oh, to be on the Management Committee.

According to George in the Chronicle, we asked Berwick for this meeting to be switched and Berwick declined:
