Aces51
Pleased to see we've now got a fixture this week after the two Bank Holiday postponements. Very good of Mildenhall to agree to the change of date at such short notice. Should be a good crowd for the opening meeting at the NSS,.

Sings4Speedway
Belle Vue are desperate to get the NL guinea pigs out before they run an EL meeting. Going to be very awkward if the NL lads get on with the meeting without any fuss and then the EL sides start grumbling...........
Ommer Mon
Good luck to all concerned at Belle Vue. It will be a huge relief to finally get a meeting run successfully at the new place. Fingers crossed.

Going to be very awkward if the NL lads get on with the meeting without any fuss and then the EL sides start grumbling........... That's far from the Truth. The tried virtually all clubs to come on Friday EL/NL. Mildenhall was the first to accept. Track is fine now. Ask cookie, ask Williamson ask Bewley ask Mellish ask Holt ask any rider that rode the track last week Good luck to all concerned at Belle Vue. It will be a huge relief to finally get a meeting run successfully at the new place. Fingers crossed. A sensible post finally. Thank you

colin wood
Tracks that run national league speedway as well as elite league should be applauded.Think they will get a very good crowd for this. Thanks to Mildenhall for creating history as the first away team to ride at the NSS☺

mikec
Just been reading Kevin Jolly's comments on the Cambridge News website about the switch of dates for the Colts fixtures, very positive, fair play to him. Looking forward to Friday night's match, no idea who would start favourites, especially on a new track. Not familiar with the Fen Tigers side, any rider in particular that Belle Vue fans should look out for on Friday night?
Guest
Perhaps they should drag caravans behind then, aping (how appropriate) the class shown by your beloved stock car promotions Caravans are not a regular feature at stock car meetings. They are kust a novelty event...a bit of humour. And, may I ask: Is it a medical ailment to like stock car racing? What I have never understood is why is there animosity from speedway supporters towards stock car racing yet the feeling is not reciprocated by car racing supporters towards the bikes? teaboy279
I have been discussing this with a lifelong Speedway fan, his opinion is that bangers are disliked because Speedway folk resent the fact that bangers and stock cars in some cases subsidise the speedway. The fact that a big Speedway crowd at tracks like mildo arlington Ipswich etc would be considered a tiny crowd at a car event. The other reason is that the cars often get blamed for damaging tracks, quite often even when there has been no car meeting the days prior. I love both sports (although I have gotten bored of British banger racing, so I mainly just go to Holland and Belgium nowadays) and it is a constant bug bear when Speedway fans slag off the bangers and stock cars as a pikey sport.
John Leslie
Just been reading Kevin Jolly's comments on the Cambridge News website about the switch of dates for the Colts fixtures, very positive, fair play to him. Fair play indeed. Although I think the biggest factor in his willingness to switch dates is to be the first vistors, before Belle Vue have got used to the track, rather than be the last visitors in September. I know Cradley were also keen to be the first visitors and agreed to go there on Saturday, but Stoke (46 miles from Belle Vue) blocked that one under the 30 mile rule (?) because they are riding the same night... Plenty of riders to look out for (well 7) current form says the danger men will be Connor Mountain & the evergreen Jon Armstrong although Alfie Bowtell is certainly one that may also catch the eye.

If you use the A34 is 35 miles and I reckon if you measure "as the crow flies" it's just below 30. I think it's just clubs fighting over the diehards who follow speedway these days. Popular Post RobMcCaffery
Yes it looks like the sort of top grade fixture that befits a so-called National Speedway Stadium. I take it you are unfamiliar with the modern National League. How about going to some matches (buses permitting) and learn rather than rely on ignorant prejudice? Perhaps you'd prefer a grand EL match with say half the riders away in Poland or riding in the Premier League and using a series of guest riders? The riders taking part in this official league fixture deserve far better than your insulting scorn. What are you trying to achieve except destroy your reputation? I'm sure someone will pass on your regards to the 14 guys racing on Friday night. They had a meeting that would 'befit a so-called National Speedway Stadium' but it was cancelled. John, you clearly despise modern speedway so have you ever thought of taking up another sport? Stock car racing can be good fun, if totally meaningless. This really is getting ridiculous. I wish Belle Vue well with the NSS and look forward to seeing some great matches there in due course. It's about what it becomes, not how it starts..... Rob B
Over 800 seats booked in advance. Last night there was 1650 seats available, currently now there is 1040 seats available. They did say last week if grandstand does sell out they would open East stand (first bend), so nobody is going to be turned away.
