spin king
As montie & Lucifer sam have pointed out, why they do not have to change anything. Having riders absent means they can bring in guests/track specialists to get a win but it is a Newcastle select side. On the other hand, if the 3 riders named ride in the EL, the start time put back to allow them to ride in the 2 meetings, then have machinery problems or become injured how would that affect the Newcastle side? It seems to be a recurring problem for Newcastle. Last season they came to Sheffield for the League meeting using 3 Guest riders and Rider Replacement. Of the 4 riders who were missing none were injured. Maybe next season they should real give careful consideration to how they build their team. Tsunami
The same can be said of when teams ride on consecutive nights. If someone gets injured in an away trip to Edinburgh then it causes a headache for the following days trip to Workington. Or even when teams ride the home and away fixtures on the same bank holiday day but it's just accepted as a limitation to the way to do things. Do we actually know who Newcastle's guests are? Hypothetical now, as BV's just been called off tomorrow. No guests now.
lucifer sam
Hypothetical now, as BV's just been called off tomorrow. No guests now. To be honest, that always looked the case. BV need a good forecast for their first meeting. Looking forward to see Robert Lambert around the EWR. All the best Rob

Looking forward to see Robert Lambert around the EWR. All the best Rob Yes, and probably the reason why no announcement of guests. Hang back for as long as possible, given the weather forecast, or wait in case BV didn't hold their meeting for other reasons. It isn't hard sometimes to plan strategies for doubling up, if you know what you are doing.

lucifer sam
Forcast to pi55down aint it? From @SpeedwayScunny twitter: Morning race fans the forecast is for a band of rain to pass through at dinner time then sunshine after the track is prepared for this. So the word from the boss is we're going racing today.

Albert
Still overcast in Scunny... Dry, no rain as yet... and quite blowy...hopefully the forecast of rain between 12-3 was wrong.
Shale Searcher
13:45 Should be raining now in Scunny, it will get heavier for a very short while, then back to light rain and be gone by 14:30/14:45 Chance of a rogue shower in the afternoon, but should be predominantly dry from 14:45 onwards.... NJC71
Diamonds got out of jail there. 18 points down with 3 to go we looked in big trouble. Two big 5-1's in 13 & 15. 10 points should be small enough to pull back. We need more from the reserves on the road though - particularly Lewis Rose who has been flying at Brough. Disappointed with the result against a team with doubts against it, and not even finished strengthening their team yet. Why is Scunny such an impossible task for us, beaten in every 21 visits. Carried 3 riders today. Should pull the deficit back, like we have in other home ties, but this should have been a banker.
Chewbacca
We're going to miss Aarnio big time.
Paulco
We're going to miss Aarnio big time. Give Victor time , he had some decent meetings for us last season , notably on the smaller tracks like Rye House and Edinburgh
andys
It's not missing aarnio that's going to be the issue as I think Victor will do a job for us, it's more having riders who blow very hot and cold at times, yes they can win races, but in same meeting can be beating by opposition reserves imo. Big Diamond
Agree about the performance we need better if we are going achieve anything this season because we weren't great at Berwick or Workington either and had full team today so no excuses. Looking at the performances Danny will always find it tough away, Victor needs few meetings before we judge, but Kus has to score points away thats why we signed him and Rose need to take his home form on the road. Just as well Robert and Steve rode could have been a lot worse if they didn't. Fortunately Scunthorpe let us off with only 10 behind shouldn't be anywhere near enough as we are very strong at home and Scorpions have been awful round Brough last few seasons against weaker Diamonds sides.
