I have had him blocked since 2010 , and have told him more than once that is the case ,but he still keeps commenting on my posts , I have no idea what he says unless someone quotes him . but I dont need to see because without doubt , it will be some sort of abuse , Just Block him .tell him you have ,and then when you see he has replied to your post ,just have a little chuckle and think " Thick Twatt" never gets the message!

Speedway is far from dead Gresh, it's clinging on to life, you should have been at The Abbey last night. A reasonable's night's entertainment for yer 17 quid. No different for me than when I started going in 68. Even stood in the same place. It's just not as exciting perhaps because of a lack of noise from a lot less fans.

It will always exist in one form or other, part-time or 1 big league could be the way forward, but it was tickety-boo last night, and for me the number 1 sport in the UK.

Indeed...I'm going tonight to Somerset.

I'm an adult that can engage in debate, that's what a forum is for. There are many excellent posters on this forum whom you can do just that with. On some topics we will agree, on others we will disagree and debate the reasons why. Such posters if and when they are corrected on something accept that, they are happy to learn something new, as am I. If I'm wrong, I will hold my hands up and admit it.

 

With regards to the post about your 'friends', now you have explained it further it makes more sense. If you were aware of the history of the fictitious friends on this forum you would understand my post.

 

As such I apologise for getting the wrong end of the stick.

There are many posters on this forum whom I have been in full agreement with on one topic and at loggerheads with over another. Orion is a perfect example of that,

this is none of my business really but i have to say it. You make good points, have a clear view of certain issues and i very often agree with you but i have to be honest and say we'd all be much happier, prob including you too, if we changed our style slightly to be less confrontational. I have to be honest and say to you that if i was a mod i would strongly warn you to change your approach.

Like i say - usually worth listening to but there's a way of disagreeing that doesn't end in a row. At the moment every thread you're involved seems to end this way.

Actually they don't end up that way in most cases with sensible posters who can debate things without throwing a tantrum if someone disagrees and if corrected on something can take it on board. It's only a select few who crop up time and again hurling abuse (not just at me) as soon as their views are challenged, or inaccuracies pointed out.

 

If you're mentioning 'insults' I suggest you read the thread again. I made a post referring to the old cliched 'friends scoffing/mocking' which is a line oft trotted out by those desperate to prove a point. I made no insult. The response to that was a vitriolic post from Gresham full of abuse. It's not the first time he has done it and it won't be the last.

That was followed up by the 'thick tw*t' contribution of speedibee.

 

The only insult I made was to speedibee which I 100% stand by as I cannot abide racists.

 

You should also draw attention to the fact that after Gresham 'clarified' what he meant by his 'friends' comment I accepted his explanation and apologised for the confusion. Again, as an adult would do.

What was the point you were challenging or debating?

 

There wasn't any...it was just a wise crack that you misunderstood.

 

And that seems to be the common theme here.

 

You misunderstand a lot of posts.

 

It's also apparent, you are simply putting people in box's, based on what has been said by other people previously on this forum.

 

If there has been a history of such, then fine...but please don't bracket everyone in that same box. I'm not that person you think I am.

 

If you would have understood my posts generally...you will understand that I am returning to Speedway, because it's been a big part of my life, I miss it and deep down love it.

 

I enjoy it when I'm there...but can see problems and certain aspects that imo, need attention.

 

The fact people seem likeminded and have similar views seems to irk you.

 

Speedway is not perfect and can be improved...but it can still be enjoyed to a certain extent in it's present form.

 

I'm glad you now understand my post...and respect you for apologising.

 

But please see, that many on here do love Speedway...they just want the best for it. Debating on how it can be improved and pointing out negatives can only improve it...hopefully.

 

What I'd like to convey to you, and the little clique that you seem to be part of...is that you all seem to have followed speedway for a long time, and seem jaded by years of 'negative' topics or any constructive criticism. This seems to have clouded your judgement on people...please see everyone as an individual...don't just put them in box's of 'happy clappers' or 'moaning old sods'.

 

I've been a member of this forum for quiet a few years...I haven't read everyday, so i'm not aware of the politics on it, plus I don't read every thread.

 

But since coming on here more regularly, the one thing that has stood out, is this little clique and band that stick together, and move in packs around posters.

 

I'm not aware if you all know you do this, but it's very noticeable...Deep down is that something you want to portray on a forum?

 

I don't see debate, all I see are posts being pulled apart...pedantic posts...snide comments, never getting to the fundamental aspect of the post...just nit picking and almost looking for an argument.

 

Perhaps engaging in debate on points, and giving a thoughtful answer in a respectful manner, might help stop all this in fighting, and stop people like me reacting in the same way.

I challenge you to name me one poster on this forum who is in a 'clique' with me.

 

The issue with yourself has arose because you made a few statements that I pointed out were incorrect. I even, as you suggest, provided specific reasons as to why they were incorrect and even where you could view the evidence for yourself. You took it upon yourself to launch into a tirade that someone had dared question you and continue to do that.

Have another read of what you have written there. It says more about you than it says about Bwitcher.

 

Over the years I have had plenty of arguments and disagreements with Bwitcher, sometimes very forceful, but we have never at any time resorted to name calling. Other times we get on fine and agree totally, sometimes pm each other on things. We just get over it and get on with it. Its called grown up discussion .

We got into a conversation, where we couldn't agree...however much you kept banging on, you couldn't or wouldn't see it from my point of view.

Like I said before Bwitcher...there is no point discussing anything with you, because you just don't read posts correctly or understand them.
