Glasgow V Redcar 24/4/16. Sunday

Recommended Posts

Good second from bukhave though and super score from Neilsen. It's been a great weekend for him.

After his first race , Bukhave wasn't off the pace and Neilsen has impressed me all weekend .

Was an entertaining enough meeting and the pre match predictions of a hammering were well wide of the mark . Worrall is the worst possible missing rider we could have as we're getting nothing much from his rides .

We're not far away from clicking though , the signs are definitely positive

Once again a poor start from Glasgow who had to work hard in the middle of the meeting to get the win. It was noticeable that the start line was well watered and grippy for the opening part as Glasgow were again outgated but got back into it as the start dried out.

The third and fourth bend were excruciatingly deep, presumably to unsettle Redcar who are used to it being slick but all it did was unsettle Garcia, Ayres and Lunna and cost us points. Do either of these things next week against Peterborough and we will get slaughtered in the opening heats and be unable to claw back their lead.

Cost the bears points also as they were on 5-1's until Lunna and Garcia hit the deck.

Indeed , but both races were developing into good tussles and were no means certain to end in Bears 5-1's

Barker kept it wound on even when he was almost out of control though he wouldnt have got near a better rider in those opening heats with his lack of speed. Bellego stuck like glue to the inside all meeting and never braved it out to the deep stuff.

There were times I hoped the track graders would pull the dirt out to the fence rather than pull it back in. I think the deep stuff was more detrimental than entertaining, Ayres was getting frustrated he couldnt ride it, Garcia twice ended up in the fence and Lunna bent a frame after losing control, all on the same bend. The experienced guys can ride any track but lets help the younger riders by striking a balance between a bit of dirt and being able to stay upright taking the bend at speed. We have some good racers down the order who couldnt show it today.

Pretty much spot on.

You wont get any bother from Panthers if they ride anything like they did today in a totally gutless performance they were shocking

Just a quick word on this - Lunna's crash was due to a chain snapping. Coty also said after the meeting that his second fall came because he was going faster than the rider in front, who was on the same line as him, and he pretty much had nowhere to go.

I think the shape of bends three and four is a big factor, as the momentum automatically carries you to the fence. As Richie said after last week, there's little margin for error on our track. Makes it all the more exciting when Barker does what he does though!

We have a team of racers this season, that's why we will have falls, scarey moments etc,

These boys won't just ride round the white line looking for points, yes Barker was taking it to the limit yesterday but that's what you get when you sign riders who won't settle for second,

Also noticed Lawson recorded the fastest time of the season in heat one.

Peterborough next up and on there yesterday you really don't know what to expect from them lol

I had to go for a sit down after watching Barker in heat 9.

Just wish I knew and was able to tell you, the only indication is there away form is better than there home form but that might look a bit silly come sunday

Its a pity George.m didn't capture Ben riding the boards on the back wheel. A truly breathtaking pass by a mega brave rider.

He was too quick for me baba!

Got a nice pic of the air fence with his dirt hitting it though. :)
