Rob Branford makes his seasonal debute at no 1 with Ben Morley at 5 Luke Priest at 3 and that basically is the team that faces the might of a very strong Birmingham side..We all know you can not win with only 3 riders scoring the bulk of the points,, but we know they will give it all they,ve got..Hopefully the rest of the side will make improvements as each meeting goes bye,, Woods should be doing better by now and needs to get it together ,,R/R is doing us no favours either,, Hopefully when we are at full strength later in the season we can win a few matches, but do not expect to much at this stage of the season from the two very inexperienced riders who may or may not make the grade only time will tell

That will be a huge miss for Birmingham even if both are not particular fans of Rye House?

Depending on the guest it would clearly give Rye the upped hand with the heat leaders as i suspect it will have to be RR(grr) for Perry.

Even so the strength in depth should take care of the long wild and mechanically unreliable Raiders tail.

In a brilliant twist Priest will be riding for Brum at Stoke the day before...........

If a rider is missing due to a PL fixture you can have a guest, so it doesn't have to be R/R for Perry. But I suspect it's all academic as its KOC so we know who is going through anyway.

Just noticed that Sam Woods is listed as an outgoing rider on the green sheets ???,, does that mean George Hunter is back earlier than anticipated,,or am i misreading the situation ?,,,would still leave us with R/R,,, Anyone know whats happening ???

Good spot. Also green sheets have Harvie Banks in the 1-5 so im guessing Woods has been given the push? Not an inspired replacement but he cant do any worse!

Bowen will be much stronger than wachnecht, how the hell did he get into this league on such a low average,,should be at least a ten ,,,If that is right sing4kings Banks for Woods ..it will not improve the teams obvious weaknesses..Oh we'll another Tonkin...

Luke Bowen guests for the Brummies with RR for Perry I presume?

Green sheets have Bowen as not eligible to guest in NL however im sure he has had one guest booking already? That said it also has Carr & Ayres down as not eligible who have also taken guest bookings?

Is the sheet wrong or am i going crazy this late in the day?

It was on the Rye House Fans FB page that Bowen guests at Rye. I presume for the Brummies as they have their top 2 missing. Beats me how he has a lower average than both of them

Liam Carr was the IOW guest last night

On the Rye site it lists Bowen & Hopwood as the Brum guests which could point to a hammering. Woods is definitely out with Banks in and Bowdrey still recovering from injury means a baptism of fire for Macauley Leek.

Also a humorous comment about other clubs wanting Locke for guest bookings........must be some teams who want to practice replacing their air fence panels.

Bowen is not eligible to guest as an NL only replacement in the PL, nothing stopping him guesting in the NL.

Expect the Brummies will bring in another guest too as the rules allow it. Bowen could guest for Perry and they could have a guest on a higher average for Wajtknecht, Ash Morris or Ben Wilson for example.

Good to see Hunter back in the 1-7, this year is going to be a case of what could have been for the Raiders if Bowtell and Hume hadn't moved on.

Know wonder this sport of ours is in decline!

How many other sports use guests?

Surely the time has come to do away with this ridiculous rule and implement a system to bring through younger riders who can progress through a squad at a club.

What are your thoughts?

There are far, far bigger issues in the speedway world than guests. This is a development league and these riders are missing because they are riding for their other clubs in higher divisions, no problem from me on that one, the higher standard of competition should always take preference.

Brum's missing riders are in PL number seven slots, progressing. The rest of their side are youngsters, progressing. It's part and parcel of the division.

Was always going to be a tough meeting for the Raiders but R/R for George makes the tail even weaker. Have to credit Rye & some others for giving lads a chance of league racing but the gulf between the top teams & the rest could end up really damaging this league.

This is exactly what Birmingham are doing .... although more astutely than others.
