Ipswich Vs Sheffield Plc Sat 23rd April

Recommended Posts

If someone had predicted Danny and Lewi to score just 5 each and us still to win by 12 everyone wouldve thought they were loopy!!

Sarj was superb and Paco lightening away a couple of times and looked quick enough once out in front.

Good stuff boys!!

I'm looking for a big haul of points from Lewi Kerr, Sarj to have his best meeting to date, the Reserves to outscore their opposites (gulp) and a comfortable 10 point home win and frozen toes by the end of the night.

I don't get many of my guesses predictions even fairly close, and as others are saying they said it first, just a reminder above of macca56's ability (almost) to predict the future...

So long as we know...

PS: Danny lowering his average in a meaningless, as far as the competition is concerned, fixture?

Haha, Hail on me - all hale and hearty. Pacca and Macca - what a combo, like pizza and haggis, Good grief.

How was Naaaaarwich today, Scotsman?

Just to let you know macca, Aussie flags flying tonight at Foxhall in Billy's honour, and meeting music started with "Billy don't be a hero" :approve:

Wow, thanks Badge. That's brilliant and very pleasing to hear. Just as well I didn't go as the track would've been flooded with tears...

RIP buddy.

That was very enjoyable with some good racing. Great to see Paco doing well. King only got 5+3 but in heat 1 he followed home James them in his next ride he demolished the tapes. Was on a 5-1 next time before sitting behind Covatti in third in heat 13. Sarjeant looked good making starts and then also demolishing the tapes in heat 15. Kerr missed the gate in his first two before scoring 5 in his last two. Risager a solid 8 points as a second string. Covatti always good value to watch and a good 13 point haul. Paco was great and to get that win and then hold of Bates in 14 was fantastic. The crowd love him let's hope it continues. Ritchings struggled but the effort was there. For Sheffield was very impressed with Bates looks a good rider in the making there. Stead was ok one good heat win but didn't appear to want to battle. Garrity started well but tailed off. Howarth again showed he hates our place but had a good win late on over Morten. Berge was average and Hall was poor though not his sort of track. Greaves showed again he has a fall a meeting. Good performance witches onwards and upwards

Just to add, on a good night:

Good to hear Gav, keeping your ring finger on the pulse and all that. We'll see in a few hours won't we. Also. good to hear you are attending. Guess you are easy to spot at Foxhole, being dressed in drag and bickering with your best bud Starman. Enjoy your speedway.

Even though that post was almost humorous (pal), I have only one thing to say about your following post (pal) and that is: Phbhbhbhblrrrrlrlrlrlrlrphhhh...

Can only see a Sheffield win by about 6. Seen Witches twice against Scunthorpe and it confirmed my view that they were a poor 1 - 7 where if one of the 1 - 5 had an off night, there would be problems. I predicted that they would finish near the bottom of the PL at the end of this season. Reserves were very poor choices and, even though the Tigers Reserves aren't great, they will outscore Pizza Man and Richie Rich tonight and one of either Kerr or Risager will have an off night. Those two both need to score well at the same time for Ipswich to win.

42 - 48.

(By the way, that was me blowing a raspberry, at the Witches' threads uninvited visitor, possibly a troll, type person.) Now, begone with you and never sully these pleasant halls again - unless you want to post nice in future, please. Hope I don't get reported because of the Phbhbhbhblrrrrlrlrlrlrlrphhhh - criticise the post and not the poster and all that.

a suitable and fitting acknowledgement/tribute IMO.

Sounds like they got it spot on this evening. Appreciation to all involved.

Part of me wishes I had gone tonight, but the bigger part wishes I had taken Monday 22 April 1985 as a day off from work and had driven up to Trimley and stayed with the little b@gger for a couple of days. I knew there were some major issues going on in his life, but never expected the outcome to be what it was. When I last spoke to him on the previous Saturday at Swindon, despite having just lost (lent) the golden helmet to Bo Petersen, he seemed brighter and bouncier - almost like the old Billy, but it was obviously more deep seated than I had imagined. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, eh. At least he never grows older - 'age shall not weary him, nor the years condemn'. Blinking good times though... Life moves on.

So, onward and upward for the Witches and Paco in particular. Scotsmen are good judges (at least tonight) of Italian talent ... Italian speedway talent

Demented as always.

BTW I lived there for 8 years, but managed to escape undemented. Or so I keep telling myself.

Haha. You did well to escape, relatively, unscathed, which is not what most people in Norwich can say as most of them are (inter) related.

Q: why does it confuse a person born in Norwich if you ask them to count to ten using only their toes? A: Because they don't know what to do with the extra two.

TBH, I like Norwich and it is a much better place to go out in than Ipswich. It's just a shame Norwich people live there. A bit like the best part of driving out of England into Scotland, is seeing England in your rear view mirror. Oh dear, I really should go straight to bed after I've been out on a Saturday, rather than tuning in to this forum.
