The ramblings from the Monarchs Chatzone from a man who can't wait to get to France on Sunday and thaw out a bit!

Brrrrrrrrr, that was freezing tonight, bring back the warmer rainy nights lol. Young Abby disappeared to the bar after a hot chocolate ( I got change!) around heat 4. Thanks to Pammie's Mum Margaret for warming her up with her hand warmers.

After a slow start from the Monarchs, all square after heat 9, they did well to take all 3 points in the end. There were several good races with heat 13 the best and a fair bit of passing on a good track.

For Monarchs, Sam recovered well in heat one and showed his class in heat 13 to beat the impressive Wells. Erik was last in heat 1 before 3 excellent wins/paid wins. Kevin had great first/last races with two defeats in between. Jye earned a good point in heat 9 passing Roynon but was guilty of trying too hard in a couple of races, his efforts will bear fruit soon. Ryan won his first three with the highlight being heat 11 when he beat Ricky. Third in his last two was what was needed to win the 3 points. Max recovered well for a 2nd in heat 2 but was probably a bit down before his last race - an easy win in heat 14 to seal the win will help his confidence. Dan showed signs that he can compete at this level, he got a gifted point but was never too far off the pace.

For the Comets, so near and yet so far - Ricky Wells was superb, he likes Armadale! Jensen was fast out of the gate to give them an impressive opening pair. Hansen scored points over Clegg and Etheridge but never got near our top four, expected better, Compton was poor. Claus got a decent score with a good win over Kevin. Adam Roynon was miles off the pace after heat 2, I'm afraid all the injuries have caught up with him but hopefully he can recover his form from a few years ago. Matt Williamson impressed, especially early on and looks a decent #7.

So it looks like the Monarchs will rely heavily on the top four but with promising signs from Jye and Dan they will look to improve, especially once Max makes more starts and improves his consistency.

ps - George M - do you have to criticize the updaters comment from the Chatzone every week? I know a lot of what you say is either in jest or a wind up (or envy ;) ) but have you ever tried doing updates? It's a thankless task - frozen fingers, forget any socialising unless you can hold a pint glass, a cigar and operate your phone at the same time! I apologize for the lack of a 500m track at Armadale with 100m wide bends but as you keep reminding us we are paupers and certainly can't afford the methadone, sorry methanol to race round the boards if they are too far away ;)

the last paragraph makes me chuckle . were you there or are you still reading form an old scorecard ? compton was not there , so it shows your ignorance in taking an interest in the opposing teams riders . letter A 2nd row on the keyboard... letter O , top row on the keyboard . just pointing out the mistake by you .

Another mediocre return from Campton, should at least be beating reserves.

WOAH! You can't say that, he's great you know!

So far, by my reckoning this season the only 1-5 riders he beaten are Jye Etheridge (who shouldn't be over here), Jakob Bukhave (has he beat anyone yet?!) and Ludvig Lindgren. Hardly the form of a man deserve of a work permit and fitting the UKV&I criteria of "elite sports person" and "established at the highest level".

establishing himself in another country . i agree , not the best start for him . maybe when the sun is on his back he will come out to play. think he will have a long wait in this country for the sun to come out .

the ones that are here , should not be here and the ones that are not here should be here .

crikey , does that make us twins . ya know like Danny devito and that Arnold wasagigger bloke ?

that word form is southern farmers talk . not to be confused with the word farm .

The only opposing riders Bukhave has beaten are, in heat 6 of the home leg of the Tees/Tweed trophy. Bjerre team rode for a 5-1 over Seb Alden and Matty Wethers. Edited by simmo1958

Well he qualified and he is here. Had a good meeting at Workington tonight and would probably beat you at most things apart from hiding behind the keyboard...

Also, you are forgetting the fact he broke his collarbone 4 weeks ago... It's probably still broken but we just don't know. Fair play for giving it a go to the lad.

These guys are professionals and I respect them trying to make a living doing someone as challenging as the sport we love!

He is NOT an "elite sports person" or "established at the highest level" so should not be here. Neither should Jye Etheridge.

He's welcome to criticize the job I do in Australia all he likes. Oh, thats right, I'm not in Australia taking the job of an Aussie who is better than me!

Let me know when he finally hits a 5 point average, he's failed twice already. I'd suggest that makes me right about him.

Shawnie C B, are you serious? You probably sit behind a keyboard in your day job as well. There again you have to be good at something... He's qualified and he's here so deal with it. You probably have never seen the kid ride.

By the looks of things, I don't think you'd beat my granny riding speedway at Scunny. But there again someone like Mason Campton can ride professional speedway and get paid for it. Jealous? You must be.

So I'd stick to keyboard bashing, you may get a new one for Christmas if you're lucky Browny.
