Baldyman
Is there anyone around that fits? Cos it ain't worth waiting till his average drops to 3 as even less choices. Does anyone know what paco is actually currently averaging? It can't be much over 1.5 I wouldn't have thought

EIS002
Sadly Paco was very poor, nice lad but talks a good race only. Fear for his future to be honest. Sarg rode well!!!!

Baldyman
Apparently in a paper today louis said he will come good. So what I want to know is does louis think we a stupid? He is saying that so it doesn't make his decision of purchasing and using him look so bad? Or is he not so clued up when it comes to riders, when nearly all fans knew he wasn't really up to it? I agree with your thoughts on CL. It may be harsh, it is early days, they are both great lads (with Darryl returning to speedway after a horrible injury a couple of years ago), there should be no doubt that they aren't trying, there has only been one PL match lost so far (although, five matches ridden overall, with one only won) and, it is the way the team was built. but both Reserve places must be under review - mustn't they? I am no team-building expert, although I would not have signed either Catagna or Ritchings (and that's not with the gift of hindsight), but there must be riders out there that would, to date, have performed better than the Witches current No.s 6 & 7? He has been mentioned before, and I don't know what his situation may be, but Kent's James Shanes could not do any worse at No, 7 - and would add to the entertainment levels. I was surprised that Ashley Morris wasn't retained from last year (I can't remember if he ever failed to ride to expectations). OK, it was probably mostly down to the way CL decided to build the 1 -7 this season - and it could be said that it paid off at Scunthorpe and Sheffield with the Witches earning away points. I see that Ash's MA is 1.20 higher than Castagna's, and with him being on a short-term contract now with Scunthorpe, it would be difficult to see how CL could bring him in, but if the opportunity arises and if the MA's allow, a change at No. 6 should, in my opinion, be made. Although, I suppose, after the hospitality during the pre-season Italian jolly bonding session, it will be even more difficult for CL to drop Paco. I would point a finger at whoever recommended both of them to Louis and/or CL's judgement of riders - which is disappointing and surprising given he appears to have his finger well and truly (tru7.com) on the speedway pulse - but then is it, given CL's CV on bringing in riders that are then discarded, developing riders under his charge and, the assets he has bought? yorkshiretyke
Wasn't a bad meeting tonight; Ipswich have a decent team but sorry to say they need to get rid of Paco quick otherwise they will achieve nothing. Can't carry on with reserves getting 4 - 5 between them and be successful. Sheffield seem to be making hard work of home meetings so far; pretty sure some team is gonna take a hiding soon. Steady - seems to have EF every meeting uncharacteristicly but HT.13 proved he's still got it. Once in front he pulled away from King with ease who was very quick tonight. Berge - what a great little rider he is. Very fast and great style. Kyle - always trying but seems to be underpowered around Owlerton. Bates - poor tonight, even when leading he seemed to go backwards. Garrity - always a trier and think he is great for Sheffield speedway. Wasn't happy with his bikes speed after ht.13 he said in interview. Hall - better tonight, glimpses of old Hally passing but still not Richard of old. Greaves - impressed, seems to be getting better every week. Noticed Sarj cut across him in ht.8. Haven't got history have they? got a lot of potential this team and could go all the way. King - very fast tonight and great to watch around Owlerton. Sarj - rode well tonight but again jumping the start and then blaming ref. Kerr - so glad to see him back and riding hard. Tailed off at the end but still good scoring. Morten - usual Risager hit and miss. Covatti- mr entertainment, what a style he has and very quick. We should never have got rid of him and Sheffields loss is certainly Ipswich's gain. Paco - sorry Paco but you have to go.... Feel sorry for him; such a nice kid but was poor. Ritchings - got better as meeting went on and a real trier. Edited April 21, 2016 by yorkshiretyke
Cue Ball
Just looking at the trophy table - it looks like Sheffield's 2 points tonight put us on 13 points, Peterborough have a match left at home that if they get a 3 point win puts them on 13 points, they have a better points difference to us, so why are we definitely through to the next round? CB252
This meeting was like a breath of fresh air after attending the Poole fiasco last night. Decent track, decent racing and well run.

Reviresco
Just a little bit..... http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/speedway/investigation-launched-after-brawl-breaks-7848840 Thanks for this, SCB. I normally keep an eye out when I know that riders have a bit of history, e.g. Romance and Auty in last week's televised fixture after their coming together last season at the EWR, but had forgotten about this one for some reason. Should add something to the return fixture at Foxhall on Saturday and may be a reason to go there rather than where I was intending on going. Do you know what the outcome of this was, bans, fines, assault allegations, thanks?

Probably all over with no as it was probably suspended for 12 months. They had to ride against each other the week after the incident as it was Coventry vs Swindon in the play-offs and I seem to remember them making an all out effort to shake hand whenever they met. Thanks again. Didn't shake each others hand by the throat then? Good if they did genuinely make-up, but then it may have been to help avoid a heavier punishment and there is a genuine bit of needle there. Tonight's incident may have just been a racing incident, of course and totally unrelated. We might find out on Saturday. Never hurt speedway having a few grudges and a bit of needle. Cue Ball
Because we got 3 points tonight and now on 14 points. Win by any margin at home whether it be 1 - ?; 3 points My mistake, forgot that the 2 point win had been scrapped for a home team winning by less than 6... Can't keep up!!
