Steve Shovlar
are you for real?? Don't start a fight with me again??? Sorry are you in charge here then??? I will do and say as I please on here and I will tell you that your a fool if I believe what you are writing is daft. Same as you trolled on here before to get a reaction and you still do it. Stop being a silly and realise other people have different opinions to yours. I respect people who can discuss and disagree but not morons who think they are right and if you think different you are a fool. This is the problem you constantly have. You fail to understand a different opinion to yours is just as valid. You say you got 23 likes over a post. I got 18. So 55/45% in your favour. Thats not just a few saying Woffinden is letting his British fans down. I am not getting into a slagging maych with you because I am way above that level. I will just say have some respect for posters with a different opinion to your own. I hear you Gavan and I agree 100%. Shovlar is a fellow Pirate supporter who has always been pretty opinionated on most things so his posts regarding Tai are nothing new to us. However, I've no idea why his view is so strong and I, as a fellow Pirate, will NOT be backing him up! Just because we support the same club doesnt mean we have the same views. Nothing wrong in that. I feel strongly because he is letting his British fans down. If you think its fine to snub his home country then fair enough. Personally I think it stinks. But be warned Starman will never get an apology from myself. I believe Steve you are intelligent and you do post sometimes just for a reaction but the paperboy is on another level

Tai has explained his reasoning so I don't comprehend the issue. I think it's very sad that British speedway fans cannot respect and accept things, no matter what club they support. As I said previously, only a handful of speedway fans throughout the UK share your view and Cardiff will prove that fact.
hyderd
care to enlighten us as to where L messi . C Ronaldo . Neymar , Gbale . learned to play football Until of international standard ? did they come up through the ranks of a country other than their own and be supported and encouraged in that country ? You know full well where they started their football career, bit like where Tai started his, and if the EL was anywhere near as good as the Polish or Swedish leagues then Tai and many more GP riders would still be riding here. We've just had a winter full of slating how weak and poor the EL is, we need the powers that be to encourage top riders back, but that won't happen until it's worth it for them. And that my friend is a fact.

I'm fine with him not wanting to ride in the UK, even though it is hugely embarrassing. Think it is more than a handful going by social media in last few months, he annoys more and more people as the months go on. If I am not a fan of a rider I will not support them British 'supposedly' or not.

If I am not a fan of a rider I will not support them British 'supposedly' or not. So you are embarrassed that you are fine with him not wanting to ride in the UK - you'll get over it! I think you will find that the majority support him no matter what is posted on social media - if you don't believe me - wait until Cardiff! There is no 'supposedly' about - he IS British and its your prerogative who you support but a 2x World Champion in a longer series of SGPs suggests he is someone special as a speedway rider - whether you like him or not!
ColinMills
when the arrogant lad said "i done more for british speedway than anybody will in the next 10 yrs" maybe you could let me know what he has done for "british speedway"....(not himself) for "british speedway"? is the sport having an upturn here? if so,im missing it somehow!!

robert72
It's the damage tai is doing to British speedway as a British world champion snubbing the British final. Will he be donating his pay packet while riding for team GB to the Ben fund ?

LisaColette
Steve0 - it looks embarrassing from the outside, but personally for me it doesn't make a difference. Never said he wasn't a good rider, just never be a fan of his. ColinMills - He is very arrogant, he also said he is as good as Rickardsson was, who has won 4/5 more WC than him!!
New Science
He has annoyed a FEW fans not the majority not by a long chalk yet quite simply you like to have a pop when not knowing the facts. His actions HAVE NOT split support. There will be a few fools like yourself who may feel the need to boo him but the vast majority will be cheering him on as a BRITISH WORLD CHAMPION - BORN TO BRITISH PARENT - WHO HAD NO CHOICE WHERE HE GREW UP - AND WILL OBVIOUSLY HAVE A SOFT SPOT FOR AUSTRALIA! Not sure if i can actually spell that out any clearer. Oh and you also mention that this thread clearly shows the split!!!! Well just for your information when i posted that the people slagging off Tai are pathetic i got 23 LIKES , yes 23 , not 3 or 4 that the posts of the Tai haters get 23 incase you misread what i wrote. That hardly shows a divided thread really. And look at the Tai haters on here, yourself, speedibee, Robert72. Not exactly a line up of people that hold any credibility as a decent poster on here. And yes the odd Poole fan backing you up. Seems there is still that bee in the bonnet of Poole fans that Tai was actually a better, and far more consistent rider than Darcy, and likely to keep adding world crowns. Some Poole fans hated that fact. Sadly the tragedy that happened means we will never know if Darcy would have been as good as Tai Must admit I am a supporter of Woffinden and take my two 9 foot Woffinden flags all over Europe when I attend the foreign GP's . However I was not impressed by his behaviour in Melbourne belting out the Aussie national anthem and then in the moment of triumph of being a British World Champion decided to clown around during God save the queen. If he is as British as everyone says he is them maybe someone should tell him to act like it, The last straw for me was the decision not too ride in the British Final. If the semi is a problem the BSPA should seed him to the final to call his bluff.I don't blame Tai for not riding in the Elite league,I get the burnout issue with 28 fixtures and extensive travelling, but surely its beyond the pail that the British World champion can't at least make a rare appearance in Britain at the British final, surely 1 appearance is not burnout .So for those who think there is not a split or Woffinden is still the darling of all the British fans then they are wrong.
ColinMills
Name me any other British rider who brought the sport as much media coverage as Tai has.... just one.. go on. He's not doing any damage. scott/emil scuffle got full page in daily star? so Tai makes four tiny lines in the sun, a tv interview, radio interview, but what has his success brought to british speedway financially? wheres the benefits? if he wanted to help boost "british speedway" do the british final, the ben fund? when he IS in this country, turn up at tracks and meet fans with his trophy for pics (paid for by promoter of the night)? no one will convince me, it would effect his title bid, by riding in the british final. yes it would be a tight schedule, but hes a speedway rider, its what they do! I don't see a large amount of media people turning up to cover the British final without the world champion, is that not damaging British speedway when your world champion snubs the British final.

Will he be donating his pay packet while riding for team GB to the Ben fund ? Those governing British speedway are doing damage, not any one rider. Tai and many other top riders have been warning the BSPA what is needed to keep the top league strong and credible. Tai has tried to get them to listen but it's too late. Only now have they finally had a sniff of the coffee , a very slight sniff I grant you. The only embarrassing thing Tai did was riding like a junior in 2014 when world champion for Wolves - now that was seriously embarrassing! Terry
Name me any other British rider who brought the sport as much media coverage as Tai has.... just one.. go on. We can't because no British rider has, but why feel the need to say it? It just smacks of big-headedness. Nobody was cheering louder than me when Tai won his first title, but overtime he's become quite arrogant and full of his own importance. Obviously nobody can question his ability, and no doubt he'll be Britains greatest ever rider, if he isn't already. I certainly wouldn't be petty enough to boo him at Cardiff, but equally, I wont be cheering. I'll be saving that for Bomber!
