Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?

Recommended Posts

Didnt Woffinden say that he and a good few other riders would ride over here if it was only one night a week...?

Bringing the sport in this country in line with both Sweden and Poland....

The BSPA, as is their right, have chosen to not restructure the sport to a single night each week to facilitate this...

Therefore, Woffinden, as is his right, has chosen not to race here...

When his main rivals for the World Title are not racing night in, night out, travelling thousands of miles each week from country to country, spending hours at airports that could be better spent training or relaxing, I quite understand Woffindens decision...

I thought Poland is more than just one night a week ?

I mean no name calling when you are debating with people. Not debating with Tai am I?

Never said i was right, just explaining where my opinion on him has come from.

You have every right to think what you like about Tai.

However I won't agree with you that he is an arrogant idiot. Plus it's a strong opinion IMHO.

Like I said confident yes, the rest is earned .

Never going to happen mate... and even if it did happen, imo many riders will still not come back for a pittance compared to what they get in Poland and Sweden, and thats excluding the GP;s

But he is very badly advised

No he isn't.

He us doing what all the other top riders are doing. Why should he be any different? Because he is British? ?

If the sport used him as a figurehead they could push the sport better but instead they bury their heads in the sand and ignore the obvious.

The BSPA are badly advised, Tai is perfectly advised. He is still achieving his dreams and goals.

Nicki is 3 times World Champion 4 times Danish Champion 3 times World team Champion 6 Danish leagues titles.

Tai 2 times World Champion 3 times British Champion 1 Elite league title

You were saying who was the best ?

One is approaching 40 the other in his mid 20's. Lets compare stats when Tai is 38 and then your post will have some credibility.

Nicki is 39, Tai 25. Perhaps you should put the debate on hold until both have finished their careers.

I will grant you that Tai is unlikely to overhaul Nicki's admirable tally of four Danish championships.

You beat me to it! :t:

But he is very badly advised

In YOUR opinion, not many others.

Woffinden is definitely someone who is very clear and driven in what he wants to achieve....

Everything appears, commendably, geared to winning the ultimate accolade....

Imagine then having that personal level of vision and drive and finding that the organisation that runs the sport in your own country plans in both semi finals of the British Championship either side of a GP?

It is akin to the Football authorities planning in the FA Cup Semi Finals on the days either side of the Champions League Final....

Or Cricket planning the British T20 Semis either side of the T20 World Cup Final day...

And both authorities then expecting participants in both Semis and Final to play in both competitions.....

Wouldnt happen would it?...

And why? Because it would be regarded as simply ludicrous to expect 'Elite' sporting competitors to mentally and physically give of their best under these conditions....

Yet British Speedway obviously didnt see any issue with scheduling these meetings into the confirmed dates...

Says a lot really...

So many excuses for tai, poor chap he must be tired, he rides a bike for a total of 5 mins a meeting and paid a lot of money, he is then flown and driven to race meetings, that must be so tough compared to doctors doing very long shifts saving lives for little money compared to tai. Let's put things into perspective here and stop the excuses.

And Nicki, and Greg, and Jarek and now Niels and many others.

Why can't they ride for the 5 easy minutes in the UK as well? ?

I guess you've trying to say that all those riders are making excuses too - am I right???

Well, no as it's just a chance to attack one rider.

No wonder no one takes you seriously.

It's at least comical reading seeing you proven wrong each time to back with another spade to dig a bigger hole.

Surely it's become Tai is British ...a better question is what top rider does not ride in his own league ?

That's a fair point and I'd rather he drop Sweden and do the EL.

However what he is doing is the same as ALL the rest.

That's proves who are at fault really.

The riders keep saying the same thing. Too many matches, too many racenights.

Nowt to do with money IMHO.

Poland and Sweden both have shorter league programmes and all the top boys ride .

And they know there race nights too.

And get better crowds too.

Something to learn from AFAIC.
