Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?

Recommended Posts

If he was a Joe Bloggs then fair enough. I struggle to understand why you think it acceptable that he as British World Champion is snubbing the British Public? If he was tired, then give up Sweden for gods sake!

Why?

Sweden fits perfectly in a regular schedule allowing him to race against the worlds best.

Of course its 'acceptable'.

We can all watch him in Swedish matches, Polish matches and in GP's if we wish.

It's time some deluded fans understood the British system is well past its sell by date.

Without fans your a nobody and wouldn't be making a very good living riding a bike.

Really? Nicki Pedersen seems to do well :)

But now he is its his responsibility he maximises his earning potential and if he earns more for less meetings abroad good luck to him, I honestly don't believe if someone was offered more money for less they work they would turn but people expect Sports men and women to

As for sky money he obviously didn't deem it enough to do all the travelling and put up withal the crap that comes with riding in the Elite League that's his prerogative and doesn't really change anything,

Nicki Pedersen is in different class to tai, Nicki is pure box office and when he retires the sport would be in a worse state.

You think he should give up Sweden rather than the UK?? You really need to understand more how the sport works if you think that your statement is correct.

Look at the facts:

Sweden pays more

Sweden is on a set night

Sweden he is competing at a much higher level than our Elite League.

Why would he give that up and that chance to become a world champion??? Ah you think he owes to the British fans? No he doesnt, he wants to be number one in the world and riding in the UK doesnt help him.

Have a look as to how many in the GP ride here?? Even Iversen wants to knock it on the head. Holder could do without it as well.

Nicki Pedersen is in different class to tai, Nicki is pure box office and when he retires the sport would be in a worse state.

Right hang on.

You say Tai riding in the UK would put bums on seats??

Now you say Nicki is box office and different class.

Which is it? Is Tai box office in one country and not another?

Your agenda is quite pathetic and your trolling posts tiresome.

Tai is a 2 time World Champion and he wants to be a 3 time World Champion and people knock him for it. Your quite sad

So Gavan you say he doesn't owe British fans , how stupid you are thinking that way.

He also owes British Speedway too.

no, he owes nobody nothing, hes been paid for his services by Wolverhampton, nobody owes nobody nothing. don't see what he owes fans either, when you have a talent, you can dictate a bit more. its no secret I'm disappointed bout british final, hence not purchasing his merchandise, so I'm sure fans will make up their own minds on that option

No you think like most promotors and that's why British speedway is in a mess, if he doesn't want to help British speedway and snubs the British final then he is not selected for the British team, it's simple and it would give out a positive message to the kids.

Not sure that you are 100% on your 'facts' Gav as I don't believe Sweden pay more than the EL now - even assuming they actually do pay what they contract to pay??!

Does Woffy also ride in Denmark does anyone know?

You're right, he's world No 3.

Tai is no 1. The best. The Champ.

Yep, a brilliant message!

Don't become the best!

Be a journeyman!

Steve, I base my opinion on him going by all the rubbish he comes out with on social media and how he comes across on tv interviews. Flagrags post just enhances this view.

You can like and support him that's up to you but it doesn't change that he is an arrogant idiot. I'll leave it there.

you say arrogant idiot (what was that I saw you telling Gavan about name calling?) And I say confident young man. You are no more right than me. So I too will leave it there.

I would of thought that he would only be able to ride for any team if wolves let him go on loan or sold him

exactly, who can put a package together that doesn't include his parent club? If he did ride in the EL it would have been for Wolves because I can't see Adams allowing him to go out on loan. He at least does have loyalty to Wolves in the EL when he chooses to ride here.

I don't comprehend why Tai not riding in the UK is such a big deal to some of you. It's ridiculous the stuff a number of you are posting. He doesn't currently ride in the UK, so bleedin' what? It's as if your lives are being ruled by this rather insignificant thing. So very sad.

As for the arrogance, that's a trait a world beater needs! However, just ask Great Ormond Street if they think he's arrogant when away from the track...

well said.

You are correct. Nicki is in a different class to Tai - it's one that is below Tai. Tai has had him in his back pocket for a while now. Edited by stevebrum

I mean no name calling when you are debating with people. Not debating with Tai am I?

Never said i was right, just explaining where my opinion on him has come from.

Didnt Woffinden say that he and a good few other riders would ride over here if it was only one night a week...?

Bringing the sport in this country in line with both Sweden and Poland....

The BSPA, as is their right, have chosen to not restructure the sport to a single night each week to facilitate this...

Therefore, Woffinden, as is his right, has chosen not to race here...

When his main rivals for the World Title are not racing night in, night out, travelling thousands of miles each week from country to country, spending hours at airports that could be better spent training or relaxing, I quite understand Woffindens decision...

Nicki is 39, Tai 25. Perhaps you should put the debate on hold until both have finished their careers.

I will grant you that Tai is unlikely to overhaul Nicki's admirable tally of four Danish championships.
