Could Woffy Be Making An El Return?

Recommended Posts

So this about covers that he is an arrogant idiot. Have to laugh at all the sheep that follow him around.

Many said that about ward.

Truth is as a double world champion he has nothing to prove and has earned the right to be a confident young man.

Yet more speculation being lauded as fact and yet the same sheep jump to believe.

Says it all.

Steve, I base my opinion on him going by all the rubbish he comes out with on social media and how he comes across on tv interviews. Flagrags post just enhances this view.

You can like and support him that's up to you but it doesn't change that he is an arrogant idiot. I'll leave it there.

Anybody who knows Speedway surely understands why Tai is giving the B.Final a miss. His quest is to give himself the best possible chance of winning a third world title that has to be his choice.Pearson is wrong if he thinks the MAJORITY of people have now took a dislike to Tai everyone i have spoke to totally agrees with his decision.Anyway good luck to Tai this year and i look forward to seeing him ride for GB in the WTC at the lush Belle Vue.

Of course the he thinks the majority still back him ,because the only ones he's spoken to are the sycofants who wouldn't dream of telling him the truth .

I'm no sheep, I have 2 views on woffy, on one hand I believe hes a absolute fantastic rider and a deserved world champ, I even think (injury free) he could break rico/mauger record. on the other hand, I do believe hes cocky and arrogant, in which case, my choice, I wont purchase another item from his merchandise, due to his brit final decision.

when he says on social media no-one wil do more than me in the next 10 yrs.....no, not my cuppa tea thanks

Plus he thinks he is just as good now as Rickardsson was!!! Hahahaha. Nope you have to win a good few more world titles yet, like 4/5!

Interesting quote in todays local paper by Nigel Pearson"Woffinden has, unquestionably, lost some of his UK fanbase after quitting the Elite League in the winter of 2014/15-and now stepped aside from defending his British title this June. These two moves alone mean he isn't quite the golden boy he once was in the eyes of most British supporters.--and he knows it."Think that's a bit of unnecessary journalism from NP.From some of the posts on here, think we already have the gist of this story.

Just goes to show people listen to my views by reading the above ;)

And some say I talk nonsense lol

no doubt someone on here will say hes better than RICKO!!.....

Never when he won 6 titles the competition was a lot stronger than it is now. TR is a real speedway legend

In the winter the BSPA and Sky put together a very good deal for Tai to ride in the Elite league in 2016 being the British World champion yet he decided not to accept it.

He has certainly burnt some bridges by not riding in the EL and the British Final this year and I just hope he does not go on to regret it. I know he is also not exactly in BT sports good book at present after not taking part in something they had arranged for the GP Coverage.

That is enormously concerning. The sport has an opportunity to build a strong relationship with what is now a significant broadcaster in BT and can well do without it being soured before it's even begun.

I do suspect that a reported change of advisor might be spoiling someone's judgement. Cutting the EL from his schedule could be argued for, although not his effective diktat to British Speedway to go to single night racing but the British Final withdrawal was unnecessary and inflammatory.

Last time I looked Scunthorpe was still in Britain so Tai's British - but he's burning too many bridges to assume that the loyal support he's had so far in most quarters will continue.

Personally, he can say he's professionally British as well as by birth - well, now prove it....

How does anyone know about a deal the BSPA and Sky supposedly put together? What club was he going to ride for? Is this just another made or story or is this actually true?

Flagrag works for sky I think - at least that's how he comes across

Tbf, t Rick was 28? when he won his 2nd world title, so tai is ahead at this stage in their respective careers. Is tai the youngest ever double world champ?

Just to clarify I wasn't involved in the deal to try to get Woffy in the EL but do know that a deal/ sponsorship was put together along with BSPA to try and persuade him to ride in UK.

From what I have been told and heard he would have signed for a club of his choice done his own deal with them and then this would have been a form of sponsorship to go towards the additional costs of riding in the UK.

From watching the programme the life of tai you could really see how much the travelling and tiredness was affecting him as the season went on. Not sure why anyone would put themselves through that if they don't need to, he's putting himself and family first like we all do. How can people knock him for that?

Not to do with Tai specifically, but I hope the BSPA do not pander to the demands of some of the GP riders and reduce even further the number of EL meetings. I believe that the huge gaps in the current fixture list is one of many reasons for the dramatic drop in attendance. It has been said many times and is true that once fans get out of the habit of going every week they soon find other things to do.
