Endeavour
a word of praise for local kid , dan bewley . first time i have seen him and the guy NEVER gave up . if the monarchs drop young dan, i am sure there will be a good few teams wanting him in their team as a 3pointer . he can gate and is steady as a rock . it will be a sad day if m/bra drop him to fit in davey. we all thought dan deserves more time in the team and should not be dropped for an aussie who has had his time. he will improve and davey wont.. cracking wee rider and a good gater .. . well done master bewley Well said. Don't think young Max is at a stage in his career when he should be riding in 3 divisions. In an article somewhere he said that Stevie Worrall has done it but with all due respect he ain't no Stevie Worrall. A bit more aggression required away from home. While young Dan is developing we need Max to step up his game. Could the averges soon show Edinburgh with three riders averaging less than 3 points a match. We must keep Dan, if we don't someone else will snap him up.

I don't rate him that highly in all honesty but fair play to him for going out and riding regularly, we should be encouraging young Brits to do exactly that, it's the only way they'll improve. Run out of 'Likes' so just to say, George, you need to get your ears cleaned out. Scotsman said 'engines', not 'Indians' - that's ENGINES. And by the way, it ain't a John Wayne movie and we mustn't call them 'Indians' any longer. They are indigenous native Americans - or summat like that. (Thanks, George, you did give me a chuckle.) PS, well done the Comets. It looked a decent 1 - 7 when it was put together with Proctor in the line-up, and it ain't doing too shabbily as it is now. Could be an exciting season ahead, lads and lasses. Pleased for you. i think proctor done us a favour rasmus jensen looks better than what i would expect from proctor Masters will be to far infront of roynon anyway for anything to happen. wasnt masters 2nd lowest scorer last night oh yes 2 points just the same as rookie dan bewly and only the zero from max clegg being lower think adam roynon had 6 or 7 points last night

topsoil
Not a Workington fan by any stretch of the imagination but I was glad to see good scores for Roynon and Campton after some of the rubbish written about them on the Edinburgh v Workington thread.

HadrianDog
Good night for the Comets tonight, Edinburgh very poor apart from Riss, Wolbert and Fisher who provided good entertainment. The rest of their 4 riders scored 5 points between them! Riss is spectacular on a big track, somewhat wasted on a track like Armadale perhaps. (Joke) For the Comets, all round good performance, nice to see Campton winning a couple of heats after coming back from that collarbone injury, he has his knockers on here, but is still better than quite a few other foreign riders in the PL. Think we will be strong at home again this season, away form will obviously be the key factor in how we do, hopefully better than last season! Not too shabby on the smaller technical tracks either as his performance at the Henry testimonial showed.
jenga
the bspa have announced an amendment to the scores for the workington v edinburgh PL meeting . sam masters scores should read 3,3,3,3,3=15 points . this has given them a win by 2 points on the night . final score comets 44-monarchs 46 . the tactical ride points have also been deducted from the final score ( 3 points ) due to the fact that edindurgh should never have been this far behind. the bspa cannot take into consideration falls and exclusions . only facts . the workington promotion team are very upset about this decision , but it is out of their hands and the rules of the sport must be adhered to . so the final result is a win for edinburgh and a loss for speedway in general . thats what mike hunt ers report should have read on the monarchs web site . but it didnt . so tough luck its speedway so live with it .looks like sam brought two dumper engines with him to workington and was saving his good engines for the elite league, theerfore shortchanging the good travelling fans of edinburgh and looking for some softies to buy him a2 new engines . at the end of the day , ya got beat . no excuses. jog on . forgot to add ,WELCOME TO THE 36 POINTS CLUB EDINBURGH... , Edited April 24, 2016 by jenga

TheScotsman
No one's making excuses. We all know we were deservedly humped. And smiler blowing up 2 engines is fact not an excuse. We would still have lost if he hadn't had the blow ups but it would have been closer.

damosuzuki
What is the point of Mike Hunter having a pop at Max Clegg in the match report. One thing I can't abide is teams critizising their own members to the outside world. People seem to be giving Bewley all the leeway in the world (rightly) but forget that Clegg is only a couple of years older and is only half a point more average - to me Edinburgh made too much a big thing about Clegg kicking on this season and there's unreasonable expectations on him. I'd be gutted reading that match report if I was the boy.

I'd be gutted reading that match report if I was the boy. If Max rode away like he does at home i don't think there would be a problem. He has scored 2,1,0 in 3 away meetings, which is very poor considering he is riding against NL riders now, that he beats 9 times out of 10 in the NL. If he can score 3/4 away from home he's done his job IMO but at the moment his performances on the road just haven't been good enough yet. I hope the lad can turn it around though as i think he is good rider as he shows at home every week.

Yeah, I know the 5.00 point scenario. I just meant in points actually scored, we could have 3 guys scoring on average less than 3 points a match. Agree with you Jenga, Dan must stay.
