Sidney the robin
Bless, still trolling and insulting I see. Some folk are intelligent enough to learn other languages. As for any 'debate'. Still not grasping that it's not a debate, it's simply someone being corrected on an incorrect statement. You never learn Witcher and you never will sad really, does there have to be a winner/loser in a debate?
ColinMills
It's ok with you then if we support the British World Champion at the SWC Final at Belle Vue in July? I remember being at Rye House in 1992 just after Gary Havelock had won his World Title in Wroclaw and everyone was saying: 'this will be shot in the arm that speedway in Britain needs'. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out like that and speedway carried on its spiral downwards from the heady days of the mid-70's when, if the World Champion was in town, it was promoted and would add numbers to the attendance. Now, would it? Maybe a few, but not enough surely to right all of the sport's ills? I tend to ignore posters who commence their post with the words: 'If you bother to read the post properly'. To me it smacks of someone who feels they are superior, like my old English teacher - and he was a right pr1ck too. TBH, I thought BWitcher was being rude and condescending to Stoke Potter, so I posted in support. There are a few posters on here who seem to debate a subject by trying to impose their opinion on others by repeating the same thing over and over again, getting louder as they do. Just like an English tourist in, say, Portugal who can't speak the native language and to get their point across, they start speaking s-l-o-w-e-r and LOUDER, before waving their arms around, banging their fist on the counter and jumping up and down. They normally always have to have the last word or, storm off in a huff, like a petulant teenager. No names mentioned of course. Always gives me a chuckle though. nothing wrong with this post, simple opinioned post I thought
Little Nicki
I'm not going to get any further involved in your nonsensical trolling. Run along to one of the other threads you're insulting people on. A noble, intelligent, response. Bless you BWitcher. Maybe I have hit a raw nerve with you. As I said on another thread, you can always use the ignore option on here. EDIT: to add, I thought this was a Forum and the definition of a forum, as far as I know is: 'A place, meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged'. I cannot find a definition that suggests that a forum is a place to browbeat another person with their own opinion. Maybe in the days when forums did not exist on social media, the people who debated the issues were more civilised than appears to be the case on here with certain posters. You never learn Witcher and you never will sad really, does there have to be a winner/loser in a debate? nothing wrong with this post, simple opinioned post I thought Thank you (multumesc) Sidney the Robin and Colin. To be honest (multumesc) you don't have to thank us, you have opinions you are straight to the point and i like that and you do put a bit of humour in to.For me this forum did have a bit of a ganging up culture, it is going slowly i believe i hope so there are some great threads on here sometimes. Always enjoy a bit of banter, but some people just seem to want to browbeat other posters and just have to seen to be right all the time - to themselves, anyway. Their shortcomings I guess. They probably feel safe on here and are very 'small' people in real life. And as you say, I always try to add a bit of humour and self-deprecation, If you can't laugh at yourself, then you can't laugh at (or feel superior to) anyone else. (On my post where I was alluding to the English tourist trying to get his point across, I kept thinking of John Cleese as Basil Fawlty). I've noticed the element of ganging up - that is one of the reasons I gave up with the Forum for a few years, and there does seem to be a clique of half a dozen posters or so. On another thread, a poster called 'The Doctor' chipped in and seemed to be part of the clique. They probably feel safe and big in each others company. Disappointing really, but hey ho. Anyway, nice chatting and thanks again. At least this thread has not been 'Boring', as it is titled.

Little Nicki
Keep on posting! Enjoy reading your comments...which is more than I can say for some! Thanks Steve. I've seen some of your posts in the 'olden days' threads and have enjoyed those too, so the feeling is reciprocated. Indeed, and the general idea is that the particular issue the discussion takes place on is the subject matter of the thread, which we seem to have wandered off of in the last few pages. Did I find speedway boring in the late 60's to the middle of the '80's - No. Did I find speedway during Denmark's dominance and when dirt deflectors and lay-downs appeared - Yes. Do I find speedway boring now - Sometimes, but it can still produce the best sports entertainment - when it is good, it is very very good, when it is bad, it can be awful. Has speedway changed, or have I? Maybe we both have. Do I think there is a bigger difference now between the top riders and the 'others' - to be honest, I don't know. A second string now, mounted on a rocket ship can beat anyone if he gates. A second string or reserve beating a HL, back in the '70's was a cause of skill, daring, maybe a bit of luck and of great celebration. I have generally been lucky enough to have an association of some kind with the sport, rather than simply as a spectator. Minor participant, mechanic, backer, buyer of pints in the bar after a meeting, driver, landlord, father - and that has enhanced it. Standing in the pits, hoping that you have doped & oiled, put in the right sprocket and tightened all the bits that need tightening, does focus your attention. Enjoy your speedway. Dont be arrogant who are you? if you are not interested in the thread read something else pretty simple really go and and find a Lakeside thread. Thanks again Sidney, but don't worry. Addio doesn't bother me. His post which he started with: 'If you bother to read Stoke Potters post properly' summed the poster up for me. Is he a Lakeside fan? I've usually found them to be ok. Always an exception to the general rule I guess. Maybe he is my old English teacher Edited April 18, 2016 by Multumesc

In fact you have made a point that I have made in the past, and which the glass half empty brigade usually refuse to acknowledge, and that is that maybe you have changed as well as the sport. Me too. I found it boring it what some describe as the Golden Years but returned to it and enjoy it as much as ever. It's all a matter of priorities and perception. So there we are, both united against the doom and gloom merchants. Enjoy your speedway. Oh , I can assure you I do. The secret of life is to enjoy the passing of time. My god man, you do come over very haughty the way you respond to my posts. If you go back over the thread, I think you will find that I joined it in support of another poster's opinion, which was 'on topic'. The reason it went 'off topic', was due to another poster, 'BWitcher'. attacking me. And don't accuse me of taking this thread off topic again, as if you hadn't of used that supercilious expression, I would not have responded.Maybe 'Liked' your post, but no responded. I have just posted on the Wolves v Lakeside thread in support of you and mentioned that I may be visiting the Arena on Friday. It will be a pleasure to meet you there. No doubt you will be easy to spot, as you really do remind me of my English teacher. (Please put me on Ignore if you detest me as much as you appear to. I ignored my English teacher, but achieved 'A' grades in my language and literature exams.) Now. back on topic: Is speedway, at its best, the most entertaining sport that exists? Another thread goes to pot. All seems very strange this character emerging from the wilderness with a back story of leaving the forum after previous threats of physical violence, yet he seems to be goading all comers in many wide and varied threads across the forum. Seems like he's spoiling for a fight one way or the other - just trying to have a good think who he could be.. Anyway, off to bed, i'll let you guys scrap it out.

A whole new range of skills is needed for short messaging, texting, emailing, etc in order to be clear and polite. I'm sorry we've lost a couple of members who, i feel, were bullied off the forum. Perhaps its time to reboot the group and start again with a clean slate.
