Agrotron
As long as Rory pays his taxes and previous injuries were covered under the reciprocal agreement between Oz and the UK, then he can quite rightly complain about his care levels. I dare say his complaint was not directed at the nurses and Dr's who treated him but more at the facilities, and the stressful conditions they have to work in. I have to ask if this thread would have been started had it been an "english" rider who complained. However all the best to Rory, he has quite an "impressive" list of injuries, broken back on a couple of occassions, broken legs, pretty sure there was a wrist break or bones in the hand which required him to mod his throttle so he could twist it... Swear the guy is held together with pins
Daniel Smith
if Mr Schlein isn't impressed with our NHS then don't use it, quite simple really but don't moan about it. He has as much right to moan about it as anyone else. He's probably had to use it more often than any of us ever hopes to

Gavan
Mark was certainly one of the most skillful riders I've seen. The only time I can recall him getting it wrong was when he knocked off Tony Rickardsson in the Swedish gp in 2000. He was lucky not to be excluded. I always thought Darcy also had great bike control, and was one of the last great team riders. If anything I thought Chris Holder was less in control when they rode together. i remember that well and Mark wasnt excluded, However there was a lot of discussion before the re- run as Tony , quite rightly, wasnt at fault. Mark just sat on his bike shrugging his shoulders not getting involved. There was talk of the exclusion being reversed and if im right both Crump and Adams complained that you couldnt do that as the decision was already made. Crump i believe then won the final. It was possibly that decision along with the one with Stefan Danno (vojens?) that cost Tony the title that year

Watching that last round in Bydgoszcz was, I think the most nerve-shredding three hours of my life, he certainly didn't make it easy for his fans! Am I right in saying that he didn't really enjoy his year as number 1 with all the pressure on him? He seemed quite relieved when it was all over to me. Am I right in saying that he didn't really enjoy his year as number 1 with all the pressure on him? He seemed quite relieved when it was all over to me. He enjoyed his time at number one but did feel more pressure mainly in league racing as he had a target on his back and never really like the Peterborough track as in his own words you didnt need to be skillful to ride it just pop out the start and have fast bikes, where Mark relied on his ability rather than his gating prowess, watch him in his Eastbourne or Lakeside days shows you how much natural talent he had In the GP's he was always on the back foot after a dismal 2 races and out in Berlin on a very tricky wet track where passing was very difficult. After that he went to Cardiff and had that nasty crash before in his final eliminator doing a rodeo down the back straight and even then almost catching Walasek. This was the days of 6 rounds and after that he was well off the pace

iris123
KNOW someone who was quoted £1,500 for an operation here, went to Poland, first class treatment in every conceivable way, cost ... about £50! Was this a rider who had everything arranged by his club I wonder?Just that I have a Polish colleague who's son had to go into a Polish hospital on one of their holidays last year and he said the place was terrible and was glad to get back to Germany
